Toronto 5 Baltimore 1

Toronto has won eight straight going into their final game in Baltimore and final game of a six game road trip before returning home to play a short three game series with Detroit.

Joel Dodd went 6.1 innings allowed 6 hits 1 earned run walked 2 and struck out 6 to improve his record this season to 2-4.

Andy Breuer (1.2 innings 1 hit 1 strikeout) and Frank Nunez (1 inning 3 strikeouts) completed the winning effort.

Pat Gonzalez got the Larks off to a good start offensively in the first inning by following up Stan Michaels who had led off with a triple with a run scoring one out single.

Baltimore tied the score in the second inning. Mickey Crane doubled and John Poindexter singled with two outs.

Bobby Bauer hit his 6th home of the season in the 6th inning with two on to put the Sky Larks up 4-1.

In the eighth Jerry Billups singled and Gonzalez drove him in with a double to make it a 5-1 final score.


Boston 12 Seattle 3

Boston shellacked Seattle 12-3 pounding out 16 hits in support of Manny Womack's route going effort.

Womack allowed 3 runs on 10 hits walked 3 and struck out 8 and evened his record on the season at 4-4.

Catcher Joe Gomez hit the only homerun, his f4th of the season, in this high scoring affair, a solo shot in the 3rd inning. Gomez had a RBI single in the three run Boston 8th inning.

Armando Johnson and Mark Quagmire each had three hits in the game.

Johnson had two singles and a double scored three runs and drove in one.

Womack drove in two runs with ground out in the second and a sac-fly in the 6th inning. He singled and scored in the eight inning.
