how I hate the current injury system

especially when SD always stacks up a bunch of injuries within the last 10 games of the season - which means.... you play 150 games and it means nothing as it all comes down to the stretch run and you get totally derailed by injury.

Last season I snuck into the playoffs and needed to play everyone to get there - and as thanks SD shelved my two best players for the playoffs. This season, fighting it out as one of 3 teams vying for 2 playoff spots, SD decides to gun down my closer. Thanks for nothing - no wonder there are so many bot teams.

Seriously - sure, players get injured in real life - but the stacking up of injuries in the last 10 games is torturous and takes all the fun out of the game.

you know that's a random thing, right? the game doesn't make injuries more likely at the end of the season than they are at any other point.

One of the reasons to use the rest function when you clinch, no sense putting players at risk when you are not playing for something...

It happens. Sometimes it (September injuries) happens a couple years in a row to one of my teams, and sometimes I avoid the late season injury bug for multiple seasons in a row.

the injuries has adjusted slightly, but is still confusing ... a pitcher with a D+, D- or F rating health hardly ever gets injured regularly, but a position player will take a major hit ... how the pitcher rating doesn't reflect the health rating is beyond this soul ... A End A Vel and B+ Con with a F Health? What does that really mean? That the career won't last too long? Or does it mean this player is more susceptible to be injured? Or both? And why is it that a team with a bunch of these players, the team rarely suffers the injury plague?

There should be one team each season (or every 2 or 3) that receives the injury plague (even if it's in consecutive seasons) ... the blasting of injuries throwing the team in chaos.

I also wonder how SimD figures out their all star players. This one (at game#154):

http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11279309&statsorimps=stats

has the most blown saves, with a losing record, and a 5.44 ERA ... with 33+ saves ... on a losing team is set to make the All Star squad

This player:

http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11279282&statsorimps=stats

is 5-1 with a 2.96 ERA ... Three saves in 91.1 IP ... for a winning team.

This player below (at Gm#154) is 8-2 with a 3.30 ERA for the same winning team ... with only four complete games as a team.

http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11279289&statsorimps=stats

This particular winning team actually leads the entire Wally Berger League in team defense with a +49/.990 (#2 has a +7/.989) ... leads the AL in team pitching with a 3.27 ERA (the next best AL is 3.46)

Yet, as of game #154, only two pitchers qualify for All-Star status (one SP and one RP) - and only one player is set for a gold glove ... winning games and ERA should take more priority than saves, don't u think?

Still, the injury thing is better. Players do not keep the same letter grade throughout the careers. Just wish the ratings matched the quality of play.

2 injuries in the middle of a world series, after nothing all season.

In most leagues (this includes all Dynasty Leagues, pitchers rarely get hurt. I've had F health starting pitchers never get injured in the entire career. They have a better chance at getting injured than a better health pitcher, but we're talking about tenths of a percent difference.

Players do play to their skills over large sample sizes...but the players they go up against affect it as much, if not more. For example, your average A- overall player in a system 2 league, would be a bench player, or maybe even wind up on the waiver wire in a system 3 league.

If anyone out there is a glutton for punishment, we just converted the Dale Murphy to a max development/max injury league with variable development while still remaining at the 3GPD pace.

Right now we do not have any openings, but I am the commish and would love to hear from interested owners to potentially join, I would love to have a waiting list, just u2u me.

I know there are lots of dynasty owners that would love this league from the pace to the rules, there have not been a lot of new changes to the rules or gameplay, so we changed the rules and it really has added to the interest...
