Boston rebounded from being whipped soundly by Oakland in a three games series in Oakland with a much needed 5-2 conquest of the New York BadApples.

The BadApples have lost four straight and seven of their last ten games. While the BadApples have struggled mightily, the Beaneaters have made a strong effort to overcome the humiliating beat down by the DogSox in Oakland.

Eddie Mountain (5-7) went eight innings allowed seven hits two runs walked 4 struck out 3 before being relieved by Joe Sanchez in the ninth inning. Sanchez netted his 12th save for the season.

Boston scored three times in the 5th inning to take a 3-1 lead on Rod Colby's three run home run, his third of the season.

Fletcher Browning hit a two run shot to make the score 5-1.

Bob Doran's solo homerun made it 5-2 but the BadApples got no closer in the 5-2 Boston win.

In game two which began with right hander Alberto Ramos, for Boston, and left hander Johnny Kardlow on the mound for the BadApples.

The Beaneaters took an early 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning on a single by right fielder Jose Morales.

Three bases on balls issued by Ramos in the 4th inning including one with the bases loaded and a single by Earl Dunn. Ramos escaped the inning by getting Kardow to pop out to second with the bases loaded.

Morales ratcheted it up with a monster three run home run in the 4th inning giving him four runs batted in the game and Boston 5-2 lead.

Bob Doran, just as he did in the first game him a solo homerun late in the game. He hit this one an inning later in the 6th, his 16th this season.

Johah Rohrmeier hit his 11th in the 9th to make it a one run game. Final Boston 5-2.

League Notes;

Oakland is hot. The DogSox swept Boston, a team that has been playing very well and took over first place from Chicago.

Chicago had dropped six of ten and fallen three games behind the steamrolling Dog Sox,.

New York is another club that has hit a wall recently. Currently they are in a four game drought and are just one game in front of Boston.
