WOW~~~!! What a finish. Probably the most exciting race in teh WBL for quite some time. All the way down to the wire. Teams battling trading jabs and body blows to the gut. The AL's race TY, the parody may out-rank Goliath's mantra of success. Oakland lost 7 of their first 8 games in Sept. only to storm back with a mid-Sept run of winning 10 straight before losing to Detroit and then Washington in their L2 series. From Aug. 31st till Sept. 21st, Baltimore went berserk going 16-3 during that span, only to lose a crucial series, swept by Chicago to ruin any hopes of post-season life. Then there is Washington - the #1 Offense in the AL, on the hip of Detroit whose team ran into trouble mid-Sept. Heading into the final game of the season, both teams are tied. Unfortunate foe Washington, they lose and Detroit wins as the Diesal return the playoffs to face the AL winner Chciago.

Here are some interesting notes ...
Head-to-Head, St. Louis was 14-10 vs. Montreal TY outscoring their nemesis 122-113 in runs scored.
Head-to-Head, Chicago was 16-8 vs. Detroit, resulting in 128-95 runs scored.
The playoffs should be interesting. St. Louis won the most games, has the better O, and is capable of beating Montreal. However, for some reason, when the ump hollers "PLAY BALL" - the Hosers find a way to humiliate St. Louis winning close tight games. Can't imagine anything changing.
Chicago went on a hot streak in the 2nd half and almost lost it going into a minor funk in Sept. Still, the team is loaded with solid vets and talented youth. Detroit limps into the playoffs, but have a great rotation. Except, can their bullpen keep up with Chicago's? This may be the major difference on who advances.
Montreal over St. Louis in 6 games ...
Chicago over Detroit in 5 games ...
Montreal in 5 games ...
