Washington completes sweep of Texas .... win fourth straight
Texas lead down to one
In the bottom of the first inning Billy Hawkins, the Texas starting pitcher, allowed a single to Scott Hudson. Hudson stole second base. Aaron Wilson advanced him to third with a ground out to second base and ken Callahan brought in the run with a double.
Texas tied the game 1-1 in the top of the second inning. Eric Pearson doubled and Jeff Gerhardt singled in the run.
Washington added a run in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.
Ted Connell singled and stole second base. Catcher Larry Haad walked. Espinoza bunted the runners along. Scott Hudson cashed in the chance with a single to left field.
The bottom of the third saw the Senators tack on two runs to make it a 4-1 lead.
Aaron Wilson singled and stole second. Joe Quirico walked. Wayne Sloan singled in Wilson and Ted Connell singled in Quirico.
The veteran laden bullpen once again stood tall. Larry Steinfeldt, Don Deleon, and Pete More, save number four were once again unscored on.
