I'm saying all in.

I know this isn't a place to devolve into "why isn't so-n-so getting nominated," especially since the Commish is kind enough to take on this task, but I have to plug Bobby Blackburne as a first ballot HOFer.

Career numbers include:

W-L 322-104

3012 K

lifetime WHIP/ERA 1.06 / 2.49 (!)

In the 1958 season Blackburne went 27-0 with an ERA of 1.88.

I think one thing I have noticed/remembered is that the MVP, ROY, Gold Glove and All-Star awards were not in place during the first couple decades of the RSL (am I right?), so some player cards will be devoid of the sparkling hardware.

Thanks again, Commish. I love this work you've done.

Tim Shaw would be another one with 201 complete games [more than anyone] W/L 310-172
ERA 3.05 He may never have been an ALL STAR but many times I don't agree with who SD picks as All Stars

Not being critical, your doing good, but I think he deserves consideration

I'm sure Shaw made some AllStar teams and possibly some Cy Young's. Color coding and recording of awards did not start until the 1965 season. At one time there was also only one MVP and Cy Young winner per entire league. Not sure when that changed. It should be possible to research some of that old info manually.

As for my votes I like them all with major reservations about Mellon. Not saying he does not deserve to get in, but there seem to be a number of guys more deserving or just as deserving. It would be a shame to see him inducted in a sweep with 300 game winners and when the exuberance wears off others don't get in.

In an honestly selfish light, it is a bummer not to see a single player from the most successful franchise in league history nominated albeit I understand the necessity in bringing forward such a long history of the entire league. Like the saying goes you can't make everyone happy.

I had some reservations about Mellon but I decided 250 wins and 3000 ks is enough to put him in.

voting for automatic induction of these 8 pitchers is closed as this ballot will not receive the minimum number of approvals needed. I will make a new ballot for these guys for individual consideration.
