Im watching the recreation of Straufenberg's attempt to kill Hitler in 1944.
Basically Carl Von Straufenberg put a bomb in a brief case in hitlers bunker(eastern Poland) Carl sited an urgent call so he left the bunker but he placed the briefcase under the table where Hitler was at. 4 were killed out of 24 people in the room. An officer decided the briefcase was too close to his feet so he has moved it, ultimately saving Hitlers life and losing his.
These people on the Discovery channel did a controlled experiment based on the facts gathered after the bombing. The had the exact amount of dynamity used and the exact position of Hitler plus the exact deminsions of the room.
They performed two experiments.
Experiment A
(the one where they put the briefcase in the spot where the officer moved it too) Hitler had the exact same injuries that he had in real life.
1. loss of hearing(due to the psi)
2. A sprained wrist
3. Splinters in his legs
Experiment B
(This one had the brief case in the original position that Straugenberg left the briefcase in) Hitler was killed
Hypothesis: If the officer had not have moved the briefcase 3 feet out of the way Hitler would have been killed on July 20, 1944, and perhaps millions of Jews, Russians, and Germans would have been spared.

Russia was smiled upon by god, or the god of weather...
Napoleans massive army was stopped by a harsh winter, and Hitler's enormous army was stopped by the weather(and Hitlers stupidity)

As much as I like Napolean, the same could be said of him. He probably entered Russia at a bad time, and his obsession with Spain may have hurt his military strength.
