[size=3]Brooklyn takes game, Baretta Jones hits for the cycle[/size]
Brooklyn crushed Milwaukee in Game 1 of their series today in Milwaukee, 14-3, led by the dominant pitching of Edward Board and the outstanding hitting of thirdbaseman Baretta Jones.
Board pitched 8 2/3, allowing 3, and was credited with the win, moving his record to 9-3. Meanwhile, Jones was 4 for 6, with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored, and hit for the elusive cycle. Little Al Piersynk also played a major offensive role, going 3 for 6 with 5 RBI and 2 runs scored, including a 2 run single in the 3rd inning that put the Bombers ahead for good.
Milwaukee starter Lefty Handley was given the loss, allowing 5 runs on 10 hits in 4 innings of work.
