Lionel Jefferson went the distance and beyond today, not only pitching all 11 innings but also scoring the tying run in the 9th after a 2 out triple (why no pinch hitter?)

What's his endurance rating?

I have had lots of pitchers pulled with shutouts intact in 1-0 type games. Some have A or A+ endurance, so I assume the game pulls pitchers in that situation routinely.

He does have an A+ endurance and is no stranger to complete games (or Cy Young's, having won 3 of them!!)

Alas, I can't read that card because I'm not in the league. Thanks for trying.

Since this was the beta league, it could have been due to the new coaching preferences. How are your preferences set? This looks like a good test case to make sure the preferences are working properly.

I've been tinkering with them quite a bit...at the time I was actually having a problem with guys being yanked way too early, so I think the reason Lionel went so long was most likely due to a lack of available relievers for the game. I've since changed my settings so a pitcher won't be pulled for tiredness at all and have seen my starters pitch a lot more innings in general because of it. With my old settings I was getting guys yanked after 3-4 batters if they weren't effective.

Boy I hope those preferences get some more work before they move to the main game. How ineffective can you be in 3-4 batters? I wouldn't pull a starting pitching who allows 3 consectutive home runs to start a game. Can't get much more ineffective than that.

Those preferences are currently only in the Beta League for testing purposes. Once they have been "debugged" they will be put into the regular league's code, and you will be able to adjust your Manager Preferences. If you are really interested, you can look around the Beta League section of the Message Boards probably find some news about them there.

So, again, you can't change your preferences, yet.
