How many times do the Broncos need to be embarrassed in the playoffs before that joker loses his job? Does anyone believe he's a good coach, or are we all kind of in agreement that John Elway and Terrell Davis were great players for ol' fish-brains?[Edited on 1-9-2005 by whiskybear]

Over rated as a coach. He didn't succeed in Oakland as I recall..Just hope he doesn't get recycled to Cleveland.

I think he can coach but I just think that he has been in one job too long. It is time for him to move on. Having a HOF QB like Elway does help alot though. I see him on the SF sidelines next year.

He is a horrible talent evaluator which is one of Denver's problems. He has too much power there. He was the guy that wanted Jake Plummer. I guess all those years that Plummer struggled in Arizona were not an indication ot him that he is just not a good quarterback. If the Broncos have a brain in their head they will can him this offseason.

This is a guy who has turned Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, and Ruben Droughns into good running backs and Terrell Davis and Cliton Portis into great ones in Denver. He is a one of the league's better coaches, and to fire hm and replace him with an unproven and likely crappy coach would be an idiotic move.

What about a guy like Romeo Cronell (sp?)? Or Jim Johnson (I think thats his name, he is Philly's D coordinator) from the Eagles? In the NFL it isn't that hard to be in contention for a long period of time because to turn-around rate is so fast. You could have one sucky year and end up in the playoffs the next (See Carolina Panthers or Tampa Bay Bucs if you want the reverse) so it is pretty hard to go through a long period of crappiness.

And who made that offensive line? All of their starters were drafted by the Broncos.

Yup. Mike Shanahan drafted a great offensive line, and he deserves credit for that. In fact, he'd make a great offensive line coach somewhere.
