I think that North Carolina could beat anyone at home or on a Neutral court. Anyone is capable of losing on the road.February 05, 2005 at 05:03PM View BBCode
I may agree with that. I do think that Illinois will finish the regular season and Big 10 Tournament (since it is played in Chicago) unbeaten. I do thinkFebruary 05, 2005 at 05:43PM View BBCode
If Illinois gets slotted in the right region they really don't travel that far from home even if they get to the Championship game. If their perimeter game is effective, I don't see any team beating them. If their outside shots don't fall then they could be beat by NC and other top teams.February 06, 2005 at 12:45AM View BBCode
I think that UNC is the best team in the NCAA. They play in the highly competitive ACC which is why Illinois may finish with a little bit of a better record but UNC has the total package. They have two great guards in Rashad McCants and Raymond Felton, great play on the inside lead by Sean May, and they have one of the most underrated players in college basketball in Jawad Williams who leads them in scoring and can play both inside and outside (I believe he shoots 44% from three and is about 6'9"). They also have some great role players and bench players like Jackie Manuel, David Noel, Marvin Williams (possibly the best freshman in the country), etc.February 06, 2005 at 12:52AM View BBCode
I pretty much agree with what everyone else is saying. I think the top two are Illinois, North Carolina...in what order I'm not exactly certain. I guess if push came to shove, I'd give it to UNC because they're in a tougher conference, but Illinois is awfully good.February 06, 2005 at 12:58AM View BBCode
I've been a Carolina fan my whole life. I've been waiting for the last four years for this year to come. I just don't think that anyone will beat Carolina on a neutral floor. Marvin Williams is amazing. The way he played against NCSU proved it. He would be starting for any other team in the country right now. That just goes to show how good the starting 5 are for Carolina. But, if Carolina played Illinois in Illinois, Carolina would probably lose.February 06, 2005 at 02:43AM View BBCode
Roy Williams is a great coach, but he had tons of talent at KU and was never able to turn it into a title. Came close several times, but no grabbing of the brass ring.Pages: 1
