Just as a note, I hate dynasties. This has nothing to do with NE, the Yankees and Lakers taught me to hate. I'm not particularly happy, but I was rooting for Pittsburgh so this game didn't really matter to me, I wanted to see Philly win, but I don't really care

And does anyone know why they're playing the Star Wars theme as they present the Lombardy Trophy?

Good for Bill Belichick, he continues to rule. But aside from that, screw the Pats.

A pox on the Sox and the Pats too. Dynast blah. The last dynasty was in China and lasted about 800 years.

What a time to be a Boston sports fan! This is easily the greatest sports year of my lifetime, what with the two Lombardi Trophies, the World Series and my first ever Sim Dynasty WS win! I'm just kvelling over here.

so overrated. They can't even kick ass in the Super Bowl, they have to get lucky and barely win.

They beat the NFL's best offense (Colts) and defense (Steelers) to get into the big show, both of those games were sound victories.

The Patriots are the luckiest team ever! How else could you explain winning 3 championships in 4 years?

Because they won 3 superbowls by a combined less than 10 points. Deservingly, they are 2-time AFC Champions.

The Patriots are an example of what sports today should be. No a-holes, no "me" players. It's all about the team, winning, not getting a big head and keeping each other in line. A true example of sportsmanship and how each team should be. If more teams and players would follow this example then the Pats would be taken down.

You know you love the Beast. The Beast will make you sing "American Pie" at 3:00 in the morning and make it seem like a good thing. The Beast will make you open up and share your true feelings, like how you're sad that your raggedy ass isn't getting any sweet sweet loving. The Beast makes average girls attractive, cute girls hot and hot girls unattainable for any but an immortal, and certainly unattainable for you since you're covered in a pool of your own vomit on the floor of the dining room in an apartment you've never seen before.

Oh, and go Grant High Aardvarks! Wooooot!

Yeah, especially when they were doing their mockery of the Eagles' wing flap celebration. Pure class and sportsmanship.

I don't have a problem with a team talking their sh*t on the field, like the Pats did. The Eagles did it for the past 2 weeks, so the mock dances were payback.

By the way, Rodney Harrison caught more balls from McNabb than Freddie Mitchell did.

I didn't say he didn't. Good for him. Freddie Mitchell sucks. But if you're going to put the Patriot players up as examples of shining virture and sportsmanship in a climate of depravity and selfishness, then you're going to have to explain how mocking the other team multiple times on the field reflects that sportsmanship.
DeVeau31

It was called payback. The Eagles talked sh*t all week long and the Pats kept their mouths shut and did it on the field. Besides, how many times have you seen the Pats pull stunts like that? ONLY when the other team talks sh*t about them.

I missed the trash talking. What were the Eagles saying?
DeVeau31

February 07, 2005 at 09:31PM View BBCode

it was mainly Freddie Mitchell. The whole Harrison thing and then saying he didn't know the names of the Pats CB's.

Look, I give the Eagles tons of credit, their defense played excellent, and their offense did at times as well. People say McNabb folded under pressure, but I disagree, he just played a superior team is all.

I'm not talking about Freddie Mitchell's trash-talking. Once again, you used the phrase, "a true example of sportsmanship and how each team should be," and I'm wondering how their mocking dances had anything to do with sportsmanship. Maybe it was payback and maybe the Eagles were talking shit, but shouldn't a team which practices sportsmanship as you claim the Pats do be above such petty displays?
