my red sox have the second most wins in the AL, but im like 3.5 games back from first. damn yankees are trump tight! worse than ever!May 11, 2003 at 05:06AM View BBCode
I'am originally from NY and a Met fan but you have to admit they are good. Doing all this w/out their best player in Jeter as well.May 11, 2003 at 02:00PM View BBCode
jeter is their highest paid player but no the best (giambi, mussina, bernie williams, etc.)May 11, 2003 at 04:26PM View BBCode
yeah i agree about jeter not being the best on the team. i too am originally from NY and a Mets fan. although, living in MA now... i started following the red sox too ;pMay 11, 2003 at 11:58PM View BBCode
I can't stand watching the yankees make it to the playoffs every year, they are such a high paying team with too much talent,I wish there was a reasonable salary cap or something...May 12, 2003 at 05:12AM View BBCode
what do they have, like a $160M payroll or something like that? thats like 3 teams payrolls. williams, jeter, matui, posada, soriano, ventura, modesi, etc.etc. wells, clemens, mussina, pettite, rivera, etc.etc.etc. like i said, trump tight. its not MLB anymore, its yankees league baseball. somebody shoot that owner before its too late!May 12, 2003 at 11:33AM View BBCode
While the whole situation is totally ridiculous, I don't think it's fair to blame Steinbrenner -- he's playing by the rules. He makes a ton of money and at least he's willing to put it back into his team. If anything, I blame the Player's Association. There definitely needs to be some sort of salary cap and they just won't allow it.May 12, 2003 at 10:39PM View BBCode
the player's assoc. speaks for the players, who want to make $$$, eliminating the salary capMay 12, 2003 at 10:50PM View BBCode
All this according to ESPN.COMMay 12, 2003 at 11:32PM View BBCode
bob dont you understand ....HE'S EVIL! evil I tell you...you can see it in his EYES!! "panting, frothing at the mouth"May 13, 2003 at 04:07AM View BBCode
Thats almost as bad as something I heard, that ARod makes more in a year that the entire Tampa Bay squad...or something like that. You've got to be kidding...May 13, 2003 at 04:36AM View BBCode
Jeter is the best Yankee hands down. He does it all. Bat ,Glove, basepaths and he's a leader in and out of the dugout.May 13, 2003 at 05:15AM View BBCode
Face it. No matter the economic system, you can count on certain things. The Yankees are going to win, the Cubs are going to lose and everyone else will have their periodic seasons in the sun and their years in the cellar. That's just the way baseball is.May 13, 2003 at 08:06AM View BBCode
and that is what is bad about the sport. dont you think it would be more exciting if the yankees were actually bad one year? ya know, watch somebody other than roger clemens pitch on TV....BTW, the cubbies look pretty good this year.May 13, 2003 at 02:43PM View BBCode
Yes I totally agree. But the Yankees have been winning like this since the 1920's and the Cubs have had a few good seasons in the past including this one so far. I don't know how to fix it but thats how I see it. The Yankees are beatable but they sure make it tough every single year don't they?May 13, 2003 at 09:03PM View BBCode
in 1990 the yankees were last in their division: 67-95, and worse in the AL, 2nd worst in the majorsMay 14, 2003 at 04:47AM View BBCode
word up, BTW my bosox picked up a game today, only 2 back from those "damn yankees". cool.May 24, 2003 at 01:53PM View BBCode
I like the Yanks. George Stienbrenner makes a lot of money so I don't see why he can't pay his players more. The yanks don't rebuild, they reload.May 24, 2003 at 06:10PM View BBCode
Fact: If you work it out, $5 of every ticket purchased at the Rangers ballpark last year went directly into Alex Rodriguez's pocket. When you take what he earns per year across number of games played and number of tickets sold - $5 of every ticket purchased went into his bank account.May 25, 2003 at 02:21AM View BBCode
true dat hollywood. BTW, my Bosox are up 1.5 games in the AL East! screw those " damn yankees"!!June 04, 2003 at 08:07PM View BBCode
Am i alone here in thinking that the cardinals rock?? not as good as they were a while back, but definitly oneof the funnest mlb teams to watch.this team isnt horrible, making you groan, but they dont win every game either.I also like watching them because younever know what will happen ith them.
