Pitcher endurance

I've got a minor gripe with the pitcher endurance ratings, specifically with guys with an "F" rating. I've got a couple of pitchers on my staff with an F for endurance, and they're averaging about 0.5 IP per appearance (Ed Lopez, 29 G/13.333 IP; Tim Knoblauch, 40 G/22.333 IP). This seems too low to me.
Granted, there are relievers out there that rack up a lot more game appearances than innings pitched, but they're almost exclusively situational lefties, often brought in just to face one lefty batter.
From a realism standpoint, I think that an F rating in endurance should signify that a reliever can go at least 1 inning or face 4-5 batters minimum before losing steam and seeing his effectiveness drop. I don't think there are any guys out there who are so out of shape that they can only face 2-3 batters before losing it. If you look at relief pitcher stats, other than situational lefties, a handful of closers and maybe a few specialty righties, relievers will have more IP than games pitched in. It seems like in this case, the endurance rating is forcing substitution behavior rather than letting the situation dictate the moves.
Perhaps the pitching roles could be amended so that one of the setup men becomes a "setup/situational lefty" position; if a team doesn't have a lefthander for that role, it would be a regular setup man. If they did, and wanted to use him in that role, they'd place him in that slot and he'd be used that way - brought in to face lefty batters and yanked quickly if too many righty pinch-hitters are brought in or if he gets into big trouble.
