Of course this could backfire as well, as owners might see low talent in the draft and say, "It's pointless to go on, I'm giving up."
This would also help in making trades for draft picks, since you could at the very least see the talent pool and have an idea of who you might get. If the "Virtual Draft" idea was added as well, it could almost be like you are trading for a specific player because you can see who would be drafted by the other owner.

Would it be possible to make the players available in the next Amateur Draft visible to the owners sometime in June or July? that way it would give the "non-contending" owners something to look forward to. This could also be incorporated with a new "Rankings System" that would allow owners to rank the players that they would want (or even the old one) that would allow owners to see what might happen in a "Virtual Draft" if the draft were to happen and everybody's preferences remain the same.Of course this could backfire as well, as owners might see low talent in the draft and say, "It's pointless to go on, I'm giving up."

Well if that were the case it would be simple to add logic where you could rank your top 16 picks in order and get the player you want in the first round.

When I redo the draft, I think the first round of the improvements won't include what you mentioned. But I may look to do this down the line.
