Richardson to the Knicks

It's not done yet and let's hope for the Knicks' sake that it doesn't get done. That team needs a lot of work but one thing it doesn't need is another guard. They just went out and threw a ton of money at Jamal Crawford last year and they have Stephon Marbury, Penny Hardaway, and Allan Houston as well who are all making a ton of money. After the Mohammed trade earlier this year Kurt Thomas is one of maybe two players on the roster that has any size so of course they trade him for a player who plays a position that they are backloaded at.

If completed it would be a great trade for the Suns though. Thomas averaged 11.5 ppg and 10.4 rpg last season. He'd give them a true 4 and would allow them to move Shawn Marion back to the small foward position where he is more effective. Thomas is a solid ball player and he can play alittle defense unlike most of the Suns roster. He's not going to shut down Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett but he's one of the better power fowards in the league. Also the deal frees up some cap room for the Suns so they can re-sign Joe Johnson.

Another disaster for the Knicks. You cannot get anyone in the tri-state area to care about basketball anymore because of this worthless team.

With the new Labor agreement, they might be able to dump Allan Houston. He and Penny Hardaway are probably the two most overpaid players in the league.

Yeah, I heard the new CBA would make it easier to buy out contracts. The 12 most overpaid players in the league all play for the Knicks. That team is a disaster. Marbury is the only player worth anything on that team now. And they keep trading away any halfway decent big men that they have. Mohammed was a great pickup for the Spurs and Thomas will be a great addition to the Suns. Isaiah Thomas is a horrible horrible GM. He just takes on everyone else's bad contracts and he has this thing for guards that are 6'7" or under. He won't stop until the entire team is overpaid shooting guards.

Skier, I feel bad for you. I'd stop watching my team if Isiah was running them into the ground like he is the Knicks. He apparently is trying to collect as many shooting guards and undersized power forwards as possible. On the bright side, Q is better than Houston and Penny so that will be an upgrade.

Oh, I'm not a Knicks fan. I'm a Nets fan(eh... it's not much better but atleast we have a future with young players like Jefferson and Krstic). I think it's funny (in a sad way.) how mismanaged they are. And to say that Isaiah is running them into a ground is alittle unfair. Scott Layden was already well on his way of running them into the ground, Isaiah just came in to finish the last part. He did make a decent trade when he went out and got Marbury because atleast he can play and it brought some interest back into the team but enough with the Tim Thomas's and Jamal Crawford's... These guys really aren't that good and he is throwing tons of money at them. Their payroll keeps growing and growing (they're adding payroll with Richardson now too) but the team talent level is declining with each move he makes. This trade isn't as bad as the Nazr Mohammed trade though.
