1. Get outfielders who can hit. Your SS, 2B, C, and 3B shouldn't all be better than your 1B, DH, and OFs.
2. Get pitchers who don't suck
3. Stop drafting high school catchers and pitchers that you aren't going to sign in the first round.

Nah, trade BJ Ryan to the Yanks. That would make you a lot better, cuz.... um.... he has a really high salary.

They're not that bad. True they have their fair share of problems but a few key players could make the team do a complete 180. It's not like they're a lost cause like the Devil Rays, who have to spend their nights praying that their prospects make it.

No, but they didn't really need to keep him either. He was pretty much a generic manager.

According to Scott Miller, on sportsline.com, Maz never really identified with the players anyway... They never even let him hire his own coaching staff. Perlozzo is much more respected by the players and probably should've been given the job two years ago.
