Inning summary

I'm not sure how hard this would be to implement, but once again I like to go to my games and read them one inning at a time like a radio broadcast without knowing the final outcome. I can't wait until we actually know where the hits and outs go to in the field! (It will be almost like Harry Carey is announcing my games!!!) One of the problems I have in doing it that way is losing track of the score. I wonder if you could add an inning summary at the end something like this:

Inning: 6 Pittsburgh
Jim McGwire singles. Art Baker singles. Jim McGwire is out trying to steal third. Ty Hofman walks. John Owen singles. Ray Manuel is hit by a pitch. Art Baker scores. Vic White hits a home run. Ty Hofman scores. John Owen scores. Ray Manuel scores. Jim Aitchison comes in from the bullpen to pitch. Roy Mumphrey strikes out. Alex Burns strikes out.
(5 runs, 4 hits.) SCORE: Pittsburgh Ironmen 8, Philadelphia Holland A's 3

Doug,
I'll see what I can do to get something like this up and running. I want to create an interface so that you can have the game unfold in front of you without any inklings of what is to come. This should be rather fun to implement, but could take some time. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it in before the next season starts.

I've been working on the other thing you mentioned, who the ball is hit to, etc. I've got about 60-70% of the plays accounted for, and its being beta tested right now. I'm still working out some of the other details. But now, all plays will say "Joe Schmoe grounded out to the pitcher." or "Jim James grounded into a 1-6-3 double play".
The error logic is becoming very sophisticated. If the ball is hit to the shortstop, it considers his arm, range, and the firstbaseman's range to see if either of them makes an error.
