Peyton Manning can, it's his team that can't.

The "Peyton Manning vs. his team, who loses to the Pats every year?" debate has started. Football season must be here.

He doesn't rush for 2.8 yards per carry. He doesn't (not) tackle Corey Dillon.

If Peyton could play against the Pats as he does against every other team in the league, the Colts would have won.

The Patriots were a better team and were playing at home. It's not Peyton's fault the Colts lost.
He also didn't fumble the ball twice. The Colts had 16 first downs passing, and zero rushing.

Peyton played like shit against the Pats, always has. The Pats are better because they know how to shut down Peyton, nobody else does.
Let's be honest here, the Colts revolve around Peyton, not Harrison, not James, not their defense, and when Peyton can't get it going, the COLTS as a TEAM can't get it going. Shut down Peyton and you beat the Colts, as the Pats have done.

According to Football Prospectus, Peyton Manning put up a 10.8 DVAR in that game (That's very good, in 16 games he had 170.1 DPAR, so he only plyaed slightly worse than his normal self in the playoff game).
Edgerrin James wasone of the top runners in the NFL last year and he was completely shut down. The crappy defense was fully exploited. That's why the Colts lost. Manning can't do everything, even if some people expect him to.

Couldn't have said it any better. Even though I hate this debate. Face it the Patriots have smakedm the Colts like little bitches for some time now. I don't care if it was @ NE or @ IND. They got beat, Manning stunk and James coughed it up from gettign hit too hard.
when it comes down to it Manning is the best QB in the game but he still can't wn the big game. I'll take Brady anyday.

Brady has one year left before he is surpassed as "the NFL quarterback who can theoretically bag the most ladies".

I think the Browns will surprise a lot of people and go 5-11.

:D the browns have a lot of talent on offense, all they need is a good QB. A few years down the line I think we will be seeing a duo of WR's in Bryant and Edwards that will consistantly put up 1000 yard seasons. I know a lot of people say that the running game is a problem for them, but when everything is clicking with Suggs and Green they are a great duo capable of carrying the offense, and when you add Droughns to the mix youve got a potent weapon. The Browns have a lot of problems on defense though.

I would hardly consider any of those three running backs anything close to good. Green is a total bust, Droughns is a Denver-system guy, and Suggs hasn't done much, but probably has the most potential of the group, but that's damning with faint praise.

Everyone is hatin' on the Bears around here, they do have one of the best young defenses around you know, or did everyone forget that defense is the most important thing? Their offense stinks, but it isn't nearly as bad as last year. Cedric Benson will be a good addition, but it will do more for Thomas Jones and light a fire under him. Muhammed is a fantastic WR pickup for a young receiver corp that is very good but never had a half-way good quarterback to show it with. Mark Bradley is a find and he'll advance to the second reciever slot soon into the season. I'm not predicting great things mind you, but SI isn't paying attention to the facts when they picked them as the worst team in the league this year, and you guys are expressing the same near-sightedness...
