on the lines of the all-star tallies where you can see the top 20 at each position it would be nice to see the top 20 in MVP.July 04, 2003 at 01:26PM View BBCode
If this gets added would it be too hard to add this to ROY voting too?July 04, 2003 at 03:53PM View BBCode
personaly I think the rookie award is too flawed to be that useful. A rookie hitting .300 with 20 HR in 390 AB will loose to a rookie hitting .265 with 1 HR in 600 AB every time. And pitchers almost never get in the top 5. If it was tweaked it might be interesting.July 04, 2003 at 05:17PM View BBCode
I'll look into adding this - I would probably add it for all 4 categories if I did it.July 04, 2003 at 05:33PM View BBCode
Personally, i like it how it is. Even though it is nice to see where your guy is at in the voting, I think it is better if it is hard to make it onto the MVP list. That makes the MVP list mean something (as it does now). If it was a top 20 in MVP voting then it really wouldn't mean much. I say that if you want to see where your guy would be in the MVP voting and he is not in the top 5: then look at the all-star votes.July 04, 2003 at 05:56PM View BBCode
I think he is talking about the feature where you can click on the link to the position and see every player with votes - there would be a similar link for MVP.July 21, 2003 at 05:20AM View BBCode
Is the vote system based on the BBWAA real-life system, or is it calculated differently? I'd just like the details...July 21, 2003 at 06:39AM View BBCode
I believe the MVP and Cy Young voting are directly tied into the number of All-Star votes. As best as I can tell, the guys with the most overall votes are always the top candidates. I do think there are flaws in the calculations (runs and steals seem a bit overvalued), but overall it's a great feature.Pages: 1
