The 2010 baseball season

April 05, 2010 at 12:18AM View BBCode

Well, Joe Morgan has said his first retarded thing, so it has officially started.

(He mentioned that David Ortiz had 30 homers and 90 RBI or whatever he had, "which are good numbers," but that you could tell he had a down year because he didn't have the walk-offs and game-ending hits. I love you so much Joe Morgan.)

Watching Jeff Samardzija implode (even against the Braves) is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

You are absolutely right -- there is nothing I hate more than a Notre Dame alum.

'cept maybe a Duke alum.

Signs your team is not a contender:

- Your No. 3 hitter is Casey Kotchman

2nd sign:

kaz matsui is your 2B, and there's no one (NO ONE!), in the wings to take his job.

makes us wish rafael landestoy would come out of retirement...

Well, the Mariners are winning in exactly the way Tim made fun of us for trying to win.

chone is on pace to draw 334 walks and bat zero. which should certainly be good enough.

what? What kind of OPS is he gonna have if he hits 0?

400 OBP% be damned.

And your math is off I think.

I think our friend Tim is adding those 10 in there somewhere, probably when the M's play the O's.

damn, carried a one that was not there. yes, chone should get 10 extra walks from the orioles though.

The higher math you use every day the more arithmetic you lose. I have good friend working on his PhD in math and he can't add two digit numbers together without a calculator or writing it out.

its nothing that sinister. i just carried a one that wasn't there, an error. chone figgins still sucks.

he did, however, last year in anaheim, come into contact with the oracle, now known as Bobby Abreu. and Bobby Abreu Oracle pointed out to Chone, that Chone was, and is, in fact, a very short person with a very small strike zone, and should not, as rule, swing at the ball very much, and he would get walked more than he had been getting walked. and a star was born. i really do think Chone might get walked this season upwards of 130 times, maybe even more.

i wish the mariners well. i never meant to give the impression i did not.

Chone wants to be Rickey Henderson but Rickey made the discovery without consulting the oracle.

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
Rickey was not as short as Chone, and also, Rickey could hit the ball out of the park, which made it a more fearful proposition to throw the ball in the strike zone.

Chone is a munchkin, and given that there are, in fact, many pitchers in the major leagues who struggle at throwing strikes with a normal non-munchkin person up there, it makes it even less likely they can find the tiny strike zone possessed by the shop steward of the Lollipop Guild, who we all now know and love as Chone.
