Trade Block Tweak

November 11, 2010 at 04:27PM View BBCode

Alot of times owners place guys on the block and never remove them after they decline enough to where its pointless to have them on the block anymore. 75% of the block ends up being cluttered with 35+ year old has beens. How about something like once a player is 35+ and not at least A- overall he gets automatically removed from the block?

Or, all players who are placed on the trade block are automatically removed exactly 1 year after the date they are placed on the block. That would really help too.

I like the 1 year dead line on players placed on the trade block

Something like that could work too, i think 1 year is way too strict though. If someone wants a bunch of 28-29 year olds in their prime that they want on the block, it'd be a chore to keep placing them on there year after year. I think 2-3 years would be better.

while i admire the sentiment behind this idea, i don't think there's really any point. to be perfectly honest, most of the stuff that gets put on the trade block is crap before it declines anyway.

true... the trade block definitely has not lived up to initial expectations. I still post that my studs are available on the message board when im starting a rebuild. Thats basically how obsolete it is.

The trade block has no real relevance in my leagues, either it's full of junk or else people don't even bother to look at it at all.

i find i don't bother to look at it because it's full of junk.

(is this a good time to say that i hated the idea from the beginning?)

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
Those of us who have been playing simD for a long time do not use the trade desk very often, I will grant that. But I see a lot of newer simmers who rely on the trade desk rather than the message board to communicate player availability. We could debate the merits and demerits of that if you like, but it isn't really the point. The point is that we have a trade desk feature now, and even though it can often be cluttered and full of "junk" it should be a very easy enhancement to just put an expiration date on all player postings. I think it is a good idea.

(I was too, but I don't think it is the best time to go there.)
