It'd be great to see the number behind the grade.

Maybe the abilitiy to hover the cursor over the grade to see the number behind it, or the option to somehow toggle between the numbers and the grades. This would help when selecting draft picks, setting lineups, etc.

Honestly having to look at only the numbers for each player would give me a headache. I like the grades for reference points, but since the numbers are really what matter I'd love to have the option to see those, you know?

I thought in number leagues the owners had the ability to switch back and forth. Maybe I'm mistaken...

Yes, you have the ability to switch back and forth.

Okay. Let me be more specific I guess. I'm in a Dynasty league. I love the 3-game-a-day format but would enjoy the ability to see the numbers behind the grades in the format I'm playing.

Your first suggestion was perfectly clear. It won't ever happen that way, because not everyone wants to see the numbers and there is a fundamentally dramatic difference between playing and knowing absolute numeric values and knowing only the letter grade estimates. You can't just let each owner in all leagues decide what they want to do. If you did, the only choice would be numbers. Letters would cease to serve any purpose at all.

First of all, I'm sorry if I sounded snippy in my last post. I was just trying to be more clear (although I realize I didn't need to).
I don't understand though. Why would being able to see the numbers be a bad thing for the game? I guess I can see how knowing the precise number might make the players seem more robotic (did I answer my own question).

I will also apologize for sounding snippy in response to your clarification.
Here's the thing: simD is designed to have a little bit of an element of unknown. The letter grades represent 8 points on a 100-point scale. Is the A/A that I was offered a better hitter than my B+/A+? Maybe he is, if he is a 90/90 and my guy is a 68/92; but if he is an 84/84 and my guy is a 75/100 ... you see?
The numeric grades are absolute. There is no guess work. There is no benefit to scouting your own players (or players from around the league) to try to watch improvements and calculate the grade for yourself. There is just a number.
Also, for those of us who really do not like numbers, if we played in a league where numbers were "optional" and we chose to NOT look at them ever, we would be at a huge competitive disadvantage. There really isn't any choice involved when you are offered more data in a data driven simulation. You have to take the data or you are putting yourself at a competitive disadvantage.
The site currently allows some leagues to use numbers. Good for them. If you would like the experience of a numbers league, you need to join a numbers league. The site could not allow all of the dynasty leagues to turn to optional numbers, it just changes the entire simulation way too dramatically.
Also, if there were 16 owners in a dynasty league who wanted to try numbers, you could become a 3 games per day speed league and turn numbers on. You would use the same schedule that you currently have, but the payments would be a bit different.

Because not everyone wants to know exactly where the player is. When you look at an MLB player there is some ambiguity. You know that Chase Utley and Garrett Anderson and Vlad Guerrero have some power. They would probably translate into the red letters of SD but there is a difference in knowing that they're a good power hitter and knowing that they're a 95 or a 92. You may want to see that difference but not everyone does.

I am in one numbers league (FRL) and I still find it enjoyable. As my first pay league in SimD, it was helpful in learning how players perform in comparison to where they are in their skills.
ccox, if you join a numbers league, you will have the choice of the following in your edit profile screen:
Always show letter grades
Show numbers on depth charts
Show numbers on player cards
Show numbers on depth charts and player cards
Always show numbers
