Derek Jeter Enters the Club

28th player to do it and the second to do it as a home run (former teammate Wade Boggs did it as a Devil Ray). Congrats Jeter!

Jeter's not even really close to being the most overpaid player in baseball .
To wit:
Vernon Wells - $24.64 million through 2014
Jason Bay - $18.125 million through 2013
sadly Justin Morneau - $15 million through 2013
Aaron Rowand - -$12 million through 2012
You could argue the relative merits of Jeter vs. Soriano and others whose teams would love to be rid of them but can't move their contracts because they are so poorly regarded, though at least they are actually playing unlike:
Carlos Silva - $11 million, plus $2 million 2012 buyout
Milton Bradley - $13.333 million

Plus I didn't even get into Chone Figgins who at almost $10 million a year is ..........well absolutely useless .

(when somebody messes around and gives out a bad contract, they should staring calling that "choneing.")
its awesome for the yankees, really, that they got him back playing again, they actually need him now with A Rod out, the Nunez thing can play third. when they get Arod back, they get Swisher or Posada or somebody to grab the badk of their leg and go on the DL.
