New England- talented but erratic WR pairs up with tom brady. that sounds familiar.
NY Jets*- still not sold on the offence of the qb but if they can just average 10 points a game, they should win.
Miami- reggie bush as a featured back? i'm not buying it.
Buffalo- actually, i think they'll be better than last year. unfortunately, that isn't saying much.
afc north
Pittsburgh- super bowl hangover? maybe, but they're still the class of the division.
Baltimore*- they're good. but something always seems to be missing.
Cleveland- "hey, we're better than the bengals"
Cincinnatti- the wrong palmer at qb and the wrong gruden at oc. not a winning combo.
afc west
San Diego- no one can possibly be that bad on special teams twice.
Oakland- they're not really a bad team anymore. how weird does that sound?
Kansas City- this whole team just screams 'meh'. well maybe not screams. more like a silent shrug from the couch.
Denver- did people really think tebow could start?
afc south
Houston- the only team in the division with a qb who played last year.
Indianapolis- the made the playoff last year because peyton manning made them. now they don't have peyton manning.
Tennessee- matt hasselback played last year? really?
Jacksonville- you're starting who at qb? seriously?
nfc east
Philadelphia- they won the off-season, that's for sure.
Dallas*- without any super bowl at home pressure the defence decides to play this year.
NY Giants- now employ the best qb named manning in the nfl. unfortunately, it's eli.
Washington- anytime your qb controversy is won by rex grossmann, you're in trouble.
nfc north
Green Bay- they still don't have a running game, but they're also still better than anyone else in the division.
Detroit- no, really.
Chicago- prized off-season aquisition is Roy Williams.
Minnesota- in 2011, if is donovan mcnabb is the answer, you're asking the wrong question.
nfc south
New Orleans- it's a toss up, but they've got some large motivation this year.
Atlanta*- lost the coin flip.
Tampa- good young team, but tougher sched= a step back.
Carolina- might not do well in the ACC.
nfc west
Arizona- hey, i have to pick somebody.
St Louis- they could easily do 7-9 again. i just have to think that 7-9 can't tie for the division two years in a row.
San Fransico- harbaugh is a great hire. it's just he's also their best qb.
Seattle- yes, that tavaris jackson.

it's that time of year again and since my baseball predictions went so well [inserts tongue firmly in cheek] i thought i'd go first.afc east

I think overall the NFC is a whole lot tougher than the AFC and that whoever comes out of the NFC will win the Superbowl.
There are, to my mind, three true super teams in the NFC with Green Bay, New Orleans and Atlanta and Philadelphia may be one as well but when you turn over 80% of your offensive line I'm a bit hesitant.
I just don't think New England are still buying into Belichek the way the used to and as such like the Steelers in the AFC with the Jets a distinct possibility. San Diego will find a new and interesting way to choke this year, can't wait.

I think those playoff predictions are pretty close to what mine would be, though I think Tampa will get the wildcard over Dallas and think the Colts still have a shot in the AFC if Manning returns quickly and at full health.I think overall the NFC is a whole lot tougher than the AFC and that whoever comes out of the NFC will win the Superbowl.

Atlanta*- Will have another good year over taking Tampa.
Tampa- Step back year like the Chiefs.

Arizona- Kolb proves he's good.
St. Louis- 7-9 again isn't good enough.

Plus I was surprised at how bad Cleveland looked, but maybe I shouldn't have been, they are the Browns after all, but there was a lot of positive buzz about Cleveland in the preseason.

The 4th quarter performance by Romo in the Sunday nighter aside the Buffalo game and Baltimore's utter domination of Pittsburgh had to be the two biggest surprises of week one for me .Plus I was surprised at how bad Cleveland looked, but maybe I shouldn't have been, they are the Browns after all, but there was a lot of positive buzz about Cleveland in the preseason.

The Browns need a real wide receiver, and the defense needs to stay awake while they are on the field. That go ahead TD the Bengals scored was atrocious.

After three weeks, I think the AFC East will be the most hotly contested division in football, with the division champ being between Buffalo (I know, right?) and New York. Pats are too pass-happy and need to run the ball more.
After three weeks, the NFC East is the second most hotly contested division with the champ; coming down between Washington and New York. Philly only makes this interesting if they remember their O-Line.
After three weeks, the NFC North is between the Packers and Lions. I actually love saying that the Lions have a team again.
After three weeks, people still don't care about the NFC West.

The way Dallas and Philly are playing I can see the Redskins making the playoffs, though Grossman is still "the suck", he tried very hard to hand the game to St. Louis in the fourth quarter today .
If at some point Mike Brown stops posturing and tries to get an asset for Carson Palmer I'd have to say Washington would be interested and if they landed Palmer with their solid D and weak schedule I'd have to call them NFC East favourites, especially after Dallas and Philly lost today in week 4.

Washington held Dallas without a TD and the Redskins schedule is incredibly soft.The way Dallas and Philly are playing I can see the Redskins making the playoffs, though Grossman is still "the suck", he tried very hard to hand the game to St. Louis in the fourth quarter today .
