yes. It seems that Tebow has gotten the starting nod over Orton primarily because Orton looked as if he was sleepwalking through this season.

This is a win-win scenario. If Tebow succeeds, Denver knows they have a QB they can work with for the future. If he fails, they know they need to draft a QB.

i suspect they already know that and would like the fans to come to grips with it too. i will say that this scenario has done the unthinkable and actually made me feel a bit bad for brady quinn. he was head and shoulders better than tebow in camp and preseason but he gets passed over because the tebow cult says so.

A few things:

A. Every time Brady Quinn had a chance to get a stranglehold on the 2nd string position, he'd choke the chance away.

B. Fox never officially named a 2nd string QB. The new active roster rules for QBs make it so he didn't have to. So he didn't.

C. Brady Quinn won't see playing time unless they have to because the more playing time he gets, the higher the draft pick the broncos have to throw at the Browns after this season.

a) given that he hasn't seen the field yet this season, it's hard to see what chance he's choked away this year. besides, had quinn got into that game and gone 4-10 i seriously doubt there would be any movement to have him named starter.

b) i never said that quinn was the "second string qb". i said that he had outperformed tebow in the preseason. he did.

c) this is probably true. i would also guess that they already feel comfortable thinking that quinn isn't the answer, so they might as well find out what tebow can actually do. the fact that his being worse than quinn gives them a better shot at luck, would of course play no role in the decision.

I think Luck's going to start doing post graduate work and stay out of the draft again .

I seriously would love that.

As for this last week's performance by Tebow, even he acknowledged how bad he was in the first half. However, it wasn't just Tebow that stunk up the joint. There were 4 passes that were plain dropped by receivers plus two missed FGs. These blunders were in addition to Tebow overthrowing receivers by 10 yards and playing catch with the coaching staff in the middle of several offensive series.

I'll take the W, but I want more of the last 5 minutes than the first 55.

that's a fair sentiment. i think the difficulty is the three things that made tebow so successful in college were, in no particular order, his competitive drive, his legs and the spread offence. that's not the greatest recipe for the nfl pocket passer they want him to be.

the dolphins can't do anything right can they? i got in my car, turned on the radio, they were like "fifteen nothing dolphins, tebow has 40 yards passing and 50 yards running. not a quarterback, huh?"

and i was like, they got his release ready to go, the dolphins can walk this home. but no. acuz they are the dogass dolphins, and they deserve it.

They should rename the NFL team in Miami to the Miami Lebrons, because right now, the Dolphins can't play the 4th quarter, either.

As for Denver, the O-line has given up 13 sacks in two games, so any QB behind that line has no time to throw a deep ball. McGahee and Ball should be the only RBs on this roster as No Show Moreno couldn't even manage to run on one of the worst run defense in the league.

Denver Offense: Can't block. Can't throw, Can't run.

Why Mike McCoy is still the O- Coordinator with the slightly less interesting than paint drying offense he has out there simply baffles me.

you can put whatever share of the blame on whomever you want, but the simple fact is that tebow was flat out terrible sunday.

I'll never deny that. That's a fact.

but he is still on the team. miami could have got him released. miami sucks.

miami does suck. i will not, can not, argue that point.

it isn't even fun to insist wrongly (just for fun) that miami does not indeed suck (and that grotesquely). that is quite remarkable.

Miami are, however, still tied for 1st in the Ollie Luck Sweepstakes which is much more important than getting Tim Tebow waived.

for the dolphins, maybe. not for the broncos.

So what does Indianapolis do if they finish with the #1 pick ?

Do they deal Peyton ?
khazim

November 02, 2011 at 08:24PM View BBCode

Yes. It's what I would do. The team is getting old. Get lots of picks and rebuild.

from who? there are lots of teams that would love a healthy peyton manning. how many there are that would be willing to give up enough to make it worth moving him when he's coming off multiple season ending neck suguries, i don't know. if they finish last they draft luck, keep manning for a year and let luck learn by watching. then they trade peyton. preferably to the giants. that would be hilarious.

I would say MIN needs a QB, how many more seasons does AP have? Once he is done they are screwed.

Not that I want to see them improve as I am a Packers fan, but to me that is the team it makes the most sense to go after Payton if Indy were to shop him.

Well, Tebow definitely didn't suck against the Raiders, but it helps when you get excellent play from your offensive line, running backs, and receivers.

And it it weird that the Broncos, who everyone agrees stinks, have the same record as the Eagles, who everyone wonders why they suck?

Well, here we are, two weeks later and the broncos, 1-4 under Orton as a starter, have gone 4-1. What is this league coming to?

i think you really have to give credit to john fox for revamping the offence to work with what he has rather than making what he has work in his offence. i also think you have to give credit to tebow for always plugging away at it and finding some way to pull out the close ones. but at the end of the day, he is just not a good quarterback. let's not forget that his offence produced a total of 10 points last night and he's completed something like 15 passes in two games.
