We're going to Great Adventure on the 19th and usually we go with the coca-cola discount. Since I'm in PA no cans have this discount. So my question is:June 06, 2004 at 03:11PM View formatted

We were considering that but online we can get $8 off each ticket and not have to wait in line to buy a ticket, so if the coke deal isn't light years better than we'll just buy tickets onlineJune 06, 2004 at 03:29PM View BBCode
go with on-line. To me not having to wait in line is worth about $40June 06, 2004 at 07:11PM View BBCode
I found the promotion on another message board. It's buy one get one free monday-thursday, but we're going on a Saturday(ug, I hate going on weekends because of lines), and $10 off any other day. We'll just get them onlineJune 07, 2004 at 03:50PM View BBCode
Hey skierdude, is self-service gas still illegal in New Jersey? I think Oregon and NJ are the only states where you still can't pump your own gas. I think it's a stupid law but that's a whole another story.June 07, 2004 at 03:55PM View BBCode
yeah it's still illegal in Jersey. In fact, it's a felony and can result in jailtime. I did grow up in Jersey, plus nearly all of my friends and family live in NJ in case you're wondering how I know. I like having someone pump gas for you, getting out of the car is a pain in the ass.June 07, 2004 at 03:57PM View BBCode
Wow. A felony for pumping gas. What is our society coming to? Personally, I like pumping my own gas.June 07, 2004 at 05:08PM View BBCode
I don't know why it's a felony, at worst it should be a misdeminor.. But the law is the law and we all know how American law is always right  hence my sn and avatarJune 07, 2004 at 05:51PM View BBCode
The gas laws in Oregon work to create jobs. Instead of paying one person to serve as a gas station attendant behind the counter, petrol companies have to pay a counter man and at least one pump attendant. It might not seem like much, but every little bit helps--the last I heard, Oregon had the highest rate of unemployment and worst economy in the U.S.June 07, 2004 at 06:22PM View BBCode
Well it does create jobs. Think about how many gas stations there are in an entire state(hell I can count over 30 in my city alone). Now imagine every station having 1-3 attendents. That's a lot of jobs. Plus full service gas stations usually have mechanic shops, thus creating even more jobsJune 07, 2004 at 07:57PM View BBCode
I dont really know why we have them in Jersey. I guess it is to create jobs. I like it because it helps lazy people like me out. It is a lot of jobs when you think about it so I guess its a good thing.June 07, 2004 at 08:10PM View BBCode
I think it is funny that it is a felony to pump ur own gas here but I like having it pumped for me. My dad always makes me go out and pump gas when we drive up to our ski house in Stowe, Vermont. It gets really cold outside in New York and Vermont so it isnt fun.June 07, 2004 at 08:19PM View BBCode
I'm not sure what the punishment is here in Oregon. I'm guessing misdemenor.June 07, 2004 at 08:51PM View BBCode
in virginia almost everywhere is self serve gas. I don't like pumping my own gas, but I'd rather pump my own than pay someone to pump it for me. they do it to make more jobs, but it usually results in more work for the attendants (with a little more pay).June 07, 2004 at 09:46PM View BBCode
you don't pay attendents, you can tip them if you want but you don't pay them. The only time I tip them is if I get them to wash my windows and check my oilJune 07, 2004 at 09:48PM View BBCode
In Oregon if you pump your own gas it's only a $500 fine.June 07, 2004 at 09:59PM View BBCode
Upon further research it appears that NJ reduced it to a fine as well in 1999. I didn't live there then so I didn't know the law changed, but when I lived there every pump had a sign on it stating it was a felony to pump gas. On my research I found some funny NJ laws:Pages: 1
