What does the 1ST% statistics mean?

(I feel really silly asking this since I'm a big-time sports stats nerd...)

Huh? I'm not sure what that means...how likely it is that a play involving that player results in a first down?

I was thinking that it might mean the percentage of the team's firstdowns that a player is responsible for.

It's the % of runs, or passes, or receptions a player has that result in 1st downs.

Ah, there we go. So it is the percentage of times that a player has the ball in his hands that results in a first down. That is an interesting stat.
