How can I do this ?

In the EFL my starting HB is Fifer and my starting FB is Shonk.
What I want to have happen is when Fifer is unavailable that Shonk becomes my HB and Tofil takes over at FB but I can't get it to work.
AFE just assumes that if Shonk is able to play he should be the FB and puts Conway in at HB . I realize that the system is only doing what I tell it to do but it's still frustrating not to be able to field my best lineup.

Sounds like what we need is a position prioritizer.
This makes good sense actually, because you might have depth at an interchangeable spot like FB/TE or DT/DE/LB where this would factor in somewhat often.

Right now positions are filled in the order that they are in on the position preview; also, the specific formation charts are used before the default charts. So if you put in Shonk as #2 HB on the specific chart and Tofil a the #2 FB on the default chart, you should get what you want. To test, temporarily send Fifer to the inactive list and look at the formation previews and make sure they look right.

That worked but will it work when Fifer is active ?
In other words when Fifer's fatigue drops will AFE put Shonk at HB and use the #2 FB, Tofil, at FB ?

Yes. The preview page uses the exact same code that is used to select personnel for a play.
