Being able to spend 'Scouting Points' on prospect(s) to help gain more insight to how they will improve or actual ratings. Something that could help decide who to take a little better.

Or something of that nature. It's such a crapshoot and think that if we had some way to gather some info about a particular

personally I wouldn't want drafting to be any easier. I like that there's never really a consensus.

Unless you're talking about variable development leagues, there are no clues that could tell us how a particular player will improve.

Having trouble visualizing how this would actually work. Are you talking about some way of finding out if a player will be a stud or a dud? Seems to me that would actually take some suspense/enjoyment out of the game.

I'm just one guy, but it seems to me the meat of this game is not the day-to-day grind so much, but the development of players and team dynasties. Part of that enjoyment comes entirely from *not* knowing how a player will develop. You evaluate the attributes, plunk down your money (CPs), and hope for the best. When it becomes clear that horse won't cross the river, you find one that will.

So maybe a little more specificity....?

I like not knowing how that pick will fare with IC's. It approaches MLB in that way. The yankees had no idea they were getting somebody who would get his body busted in a bar fight, (Brien Taylor) even though he went into the draft as the best thing since Tom Terrific (Seaver). At the other end of the spectrum, when the dodgers drafter Tommy Lasorda's godson in the 40th round as a favor to his father, they had know idea they would get a ballplayer with the heart to become one of the top offensive players at his position in the history of the game. Its all part of the experience.

piazza actually lasted until the 62nd round of the draft...but when you say "heart", you mean "steroids" right, ha

I would like something of opening our roster up more and actually have one or maybe even two minor league teams! And they gain ics from the games they play just like the major league games are. But instead of players improving across the board, they improve on how they play and what they did better. So if a player hit something like 40hrs, he would gain ic for power. Then if a player hits for a high averagehis contact gets the ic. Players would have to play at 5 tool star calibur player to improve in all phases. Its something that can change year to year to. For pitchers high walks doesn't help control, high strike out help velocity. Sp that gets pulled early losses there endurance, RP that works alot can gain endurance. It'll almost be like running an actual team like they do know. If a stud hitting catcher can't throw a hitter out his arm won't develop has fast. And this could lead to later round picks becoming better then the early round picks.

Lets face it everyone who played in that era and posted good numbers has been "speculated" about. Which is another of the tragedies of the steroid era .

Here is an interview with Jeff Bagwell in 2010 where he addresses the issue of PEDs, and the perception of the era, very well.

It should be noted that at least one HOF voter, Dan Graziano, has left Bagwell off his ballots because, and I quote, : "I'm not accusing Jeff Bagwell of taking steroids or any other performance-enhancing drug. I'm just saying I'm suspicious" - somewhere the ghost of Joe McCarthy is smiling .
