Ray Keegan in the Vida Blue leagu did not miss a game for 12+ consecutive seasons. A streak that was longer than Lou Gherigs.

He'd have to play every day for more than 13 seasons to pass Gehrig. Still awesome though.

This player of mine went 14+ seasons without missing a game (exactly 2,350 consecutive games) starting at 1st base. You could add the 64 playoff games thru the 2021 season to that total as well.

yeah, i had one. i actually figured it out once, i can't remember now how many it was
http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=4479130
i believe it was promoted there in 2008 and began its streak, and finally missed a game in 2024 (its health declined beginning 2023, i believe i did a little something with the pinch hitting to keep the streak going that year. after 2024 i basically got tired of seeing its ugly high mediocre face.
the guys in my league tried to put in the HOF and i threatened to quit playing if they did. acuz suck.

I didn't get the last sentence you wrote. you didn't want him to make the Hall of Fame? Why not?

because it was a piece of junk and its main awesome quality was a health rating.
i mean look at it. a thing like this is supposed to be be prized for its obp (they can't slug and defense is a joke, so it must be obp). but:
it led the league in obp.........never.
in fact, it carried an obp in excess of .370 exactly..........wait for it........5 times.
(if something below .370 is your benchmark, i apologize, but, that better not be your benchmark for things that can't hit the homerun.)
it led the league in hits twice. it led the league in at bats both years, so, you know, it means little. IT HAD GREAT HEALTH!!!!!
it won the MVP one time. middle infielders with a big health rating usually do get lucky and win it one time. sometimes even twice. even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
it made a lot of all star teams. again, health rating. the all star team is a health contest, its a joke, its silly.
as a defender, it was average, a lifetime +106 at shortstop, offset by 119 errors.
believe me, there are far, far.................far better defenders in the simulation. this is what a great defender looks like:

that is what, in fact, an awesome HOF middle infielder looks like. hutson was a piece of junk with a health rating.

Granted his career slash lines are .284/.354/.439/.793 which is not too special but he had well over 3,000 hits as well as almost 1,800 runs scored, 550 doubles, 130 triples, 300 HR, almost 1,500 RBI and over 500 SB that is a Hall of Fame lock. First or second ballot easily. Having great health and longevity can put a guy in the Hall even if he was never dominant.

in real life, that's true, it is a great accomplishment to play that many games, to stick in a lineup, to accumulate 3000+ hits and those other counting stats (they are not remarkable though, they wouldn't be even for a real life player, given the games played).
in the simulation, it is not remarkable or a great accomplisment (its simply the intersection of high mediocre skill and a great health rating and the all star voting stressing above all else the dumb counting stats, its is just all inevitable.)
Hall of Fame. this thing is not even Hall of Very Good. its Hall of High Mediocre. It is what we call, in that league, a High Quality Turd. Its highly useful. its not very good, its not HOF quality. its not close.

(i don't complain when folks in the league put their things like this up for HOF, in fact, i just vote for them. i just don't put my players like this up for it. this was my player. it wasn't good enough.)

I vote to have Halls of High Mediocre put in every SimD league! :)

yes, we kind of have an unofficial one. they are great fun, more than the regular HOF. HOT. Hall of Turd.

That would be a riot! Players not getting the votes because they just didn't have enough turd in them. The debates on the boards would be fun.

What do you do for a player who has a career that crapped out? HOT or not? !!!???!!!

This guy is a lock for the HoT. His only issue was that he only played 2 full years http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=2965225

no, you missed the point. the HOT is especially for things like hutson, these awesome ironmen that folks want in the HOF because they had a dumb health rating and jerked everyone around for 16 seasons to the tune of a sub .800 ops.
(listen, the way simd works is, in almost every league, especially in cp leagues, there are awful teams out there. that is why we see some really outstanding stats from the really good players. and its why we see turdlies at around .800. they have to really suck to ops .800 with the sorryass pitchers out there they have available to run their numbers up on.)

(in all time ops, it clocks in at a tie for.........716th.)
there are exactly three hitters in the HOF in that leauge at that number or worse. one i voted for just to make somebody who is no longer in the league angry, and the owner was a really nice guy, so yeah
http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=1708181
good old mordacai. he sucked.
one was a catcher and somewhat deserving
http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5721231
and one was the fabulous Harry Moseby, which was owned by Roosters and therefore was fabulous, and, as was pointed out, Reggie Jackons was the straw that stirred the drink, but Harry Moseby invented straws.
http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=5977533
so, letting houston in would not be an awful thing, it is the Ironman of the GNL, no other player approached its streak. but, i sucessfully kept it out of the Hall, because it was my player.
we even had one of my players in the Hall, and, when the HOF boss went off and went absent and i had his password, i inadvertendly had the keys to the HOF. so i removed this player from the HOF it had been previously voted in:
http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=2341231
yes, i removed kenny because
1. it was fun to remove it (it was the only player ever so removed)
2. it was my player (SCORE!)
3. it was a contemptible turd face turd head that never should have been in the HOF to start with. totally....HOT...worthy.........though.

I guess I see your point. In real life he would be a lock for the HoF but not in SD.
