When you make your lineup, there is no option to make your leadoff hitter take more pitches, or for your cleanup hitter to swing away more.January 06, 2014 at 11:18PM View BBCode

I completely disagree with this idea. there are a lot of Reasons why guy would want a fast lineup that doesn't steal. Different guy want different levels of aggressiveness. We should enable that as much as possible.January 08, 2014 at 03:17PM View BBCode
the most obvious observation is it wouldn't do anything to stop tanking. stealing too many bases is just one small part of setting a team up to lose.January 08, 2014 at 03:29PM View BBCode
(and neither would penalizing ic or draft lotteries or all the other dopey schemes that have been proposed. folks that truly tank don't care about improvement, they want the stupid stud players, especially pitchers ready to dominate out of the gate-WHICH BY THE WAY ARE TOTALLY UNREALSTIC AND ARE THE REAL PROBLEM.February 04, 2014 at 05:16PM View BBCode

You do it my placing a higher contact batter in the 1 and/or 2 spots and higher power hitters to follow.
This format should stay consistent with stealing bases.

Clayton Kershaw is the closest thing to it that we have ever seen and he is still so young that an injury at any point in the next decade would "ruin" his career compared to similar players in simD (and he is more like the OS 19 B+/B- guy who gets to A+/A- at OS 24, rather than the A/A guys at OS 18 that you are talking about).February 04, 2014 at 09:58PM View BBCode
one of the more innovative ideas I've seen in a while...or is it de-innovative, ha. I don't like it though, I wouldn't support removing options in any case, I don't think. I've never personally witnessed one of these baserunning suicide operations though, maybe I'd change my tune if I saw one up close, but I don't think anything needs to change in stealing prefs, other than to be able to change it by +/- catcher arm, instead of just A or B, like with speed.February 04, 2014 at 10:10PM View BBCode
or maybe something like B and slower can't go higher than Aggressive, or even Moderate, might pretty much end the abuse.February 04, 2014 at 10:55PM View BBCode

Thats not what I meant at all. It's a good idea and I don't know why it hasn't been done. There was a reason given for it, I just can't remember what it was.February 05, 2014 at 12:12AM View BBCode
oh lol, in that case "my bad" for real this time.February 05, 2014 at 02:05AM View BBCode
I think the reason it didn't go into B was that B and B+ used to be grouped together and some people thought B+ stealing with some regularity was a reasonable idea. probably it just didn't get adjusted when they split everything up.February 10, 2014 at 08:30PM View BBCode
Great input, it was just and idea.February 10, 2014 at 08:42PM View BBCode
Also think Speed should be split into 2 categories. One for base running and one for palyers speed. Player's speed would be more easy to max out, and attribute to beating out infield singles and extending singles and doubles to doubles and triples respectively and a small portion may attribute to stealing a base. and base running would be much more difficult to max out and would only attribute to the players ability to steal a base.February 10, 2014 at 09:25PM View BBCode
in Sim Dynasty 2.0, I'd like to see several additional skills, Plate Discipline (to take walks out of Contact), pitcher Stuff (to take breaking balls out of Control), Glove (to take fielding errors out of Range), and Baserunning (to separate SB/pickoffs/stretching from pure Speed). I'd also like to see Speed factor into Range on defense, I annoy myself when I have an A+ speed guy playing 1B, for example.Pages: 1
