Imagine if he had A+ health...still has terrible speed, but I don't really care

Here is the draft.
Also, this is the real gem in the draft...

Melendez, and then Patton. After that, it's a pretty ugly draft pool.

You think? Perhaps overall, but I've never seen an A+ guy across the hitting board like that

You can't go wrong with either, and if you need a bat now, then Patton is the choice. But Melendez will be better I think, mainly because of the great health, better speed, and eventual A/A+ ratings with maxed out power.
Patton likely makes low B+ speed, which combined with the A+ hitting, should be good enough for an OPS of .950+ for many seasons to come.
Here's a guy that was A+ across the board with B+ speed. He actually started at A+/A+ and A+/A. Great hitter, but we had some other hitters around the same time period that I'd take first, like this one that was A/A+ with A speed and red letter health. I'd take his career over the other guy, wouldn't you?

I'd say it's most likely Melendez posts better counting numbers over the course of his career due to health plus he likely comes up at OS22 rather than OS25 for Patton, but I'd guess the rate stats will marginally favour Patton, despite the speed, and Patton is available right away.
Chances are if you're picking 1st Melendez is your guy.
PS - I was (sort of) kidding about the 4 C to C+ 17 year old pitchers but there are a LOT of owners on this site who, in my opinion, place too much emphasis on drafting pitching.
