Minor DynastyVision change

October 18, 2004 at 03:16PM View BBCode

Chris and I made a slight change to how DynastyVision tracks runners left on base. The net effect of this is that when you click the button to "Cancel Dynasty Vision and view boxscore" it should come up almost immediately now.

As usual, this is going to need to be hit with a variety of Mac and Netscape stuff. The change is really minor, but I had to rewrite the end-of-game code that unhides the play-by-play, so I need to make sure I didn't do anything stupid.

It's also worth noting that since the LOB info is now written into the box score, if you look at box scores prior to the change you won't see any LOB info at all.

Tyson, minor bug:

In the team totals, the word LEFT is still in all caps, and there should probably be a <BR> between the two teams' totals.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted another new line between the team totals. Do other people think we should add a blank line between them? Is this how it was displayed before?

I changed LEFT to left - thanks!

They were on separate lines before. But I only put them there because it was one of the few places I could insert lines from script. Recaps usually have that information in the box score section at the end of Batting (see [url]http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=241019110[/url]).

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
It would take a lot more time to add them there - I wouldn't really know where to start. But I think in the long run, that may be the place to put it.

The changes seem to work fine on my Mac using Safari. I like the added text that tracks players left on base and the totals at the end.

It's working fine on my PC IE 6.
