I just printed out my bracket and have been filling it out. I see a couple potential 5-12 upsets (George Washington could beat an ailing Georgia Tech and New Mexico could surprise Villanova). I haven't filled out too much yet but those are a couple that I see. Anybody predict any huge upsets?March 14, 2005 at 04:32AM View BBCode
I have a feeling on this one:March 14, 2005 at 04:33AM View BBCode
Hmmm... maybe I'll make a bet on that one. I have a feeling that I can find a lot of suckers to take that bet. :rolleyes:March 14, 2005 at 04:36AM View BBCode

I think Vermont has a good chance against Syracuse (of course, Syracuse is my pick to win it all). I also think that Utah State could beat Arizona and I am almost positive Washington will lose to Pacific in the second round.March 14, 2005 at 11:30PM View BBCode
There is no way Vermont beats Syracuse, they rely too much on Coppenrath who will be neutered when he plays the 2-3.March 14, 2005 at 11:37PM View BBCode
Coppenrath could get a ton of rebounds against that zone, and could possibly hold down Warrick pretty well.March 14, 2005 at 11:39PM View BBCode
If there's one thing in this world that I know, it's that teams whose game revolves around one dominant big man and a bunch of decent but unspectacular role-players and not enough good perimeter shooters do not beat the masters of the 2-3.March 14, 2005 at 11:43PM View BBCode
Your probably right. I am still picking Syracuse to win it all, I'm just saying that Vermont has a decent chance, especially compared to most other 13 seeds. If McNamera hits one of his cold streaks where he can't make anything and Coppenrath does a decent job defensively, it could end up being a pretty low scoring game, and Vermont may have a chance.March 15, 2005 at 12:22AM View BBCode
It's a tough matchup for Vermont because of that zone. And Coppenrath will likely have to spend a lot of energy on the defensive end trying to contain Warrick. Vermont is a pretty good team but Syracuse matches up extremely well with them which sucks for Vermont.March 15, 2005 at 12:28AM View BBCode

My boldest pick: Old Dominion over Michigan State. I also have N.C. State over Charlotte, UCLA over Tech, and I like GW's chances against Georgia Tech.March 15, 2005 at 09:25PM View formatted

Texas Tech will probably get past UCLA. In fact I think they could make the elite 8.

Yeah right. Rule #1 in picking brackets - never pick a team with a compass direction in their name.March 15, 2005 at 09:47PM View BBCode
