hmm, nothing real earth-shattering, except maybe for the Big Cat hanging 'em up when he's close to 400 homers.

I wonder what the problem was with Mike Myers in STL. He just left the RedSox this offseason and signed with them and has already been trade back without playing a single reg. season game

Makes me choke up seeing Gil go. He would've been a terrific bench warmer and was excellent commuting from Seattle to Tacoma and back.

The Red Sox will release Byung Hyun Kim now that they have acquired Myers. By the way, I'm willing to bet that 3/4 of the people on this message board can throw harder than Myers. He's the classic sidearm throwing leftie who faces one batter every other day.

That's for sure. I KNOW I can, hell, there's more than I can count on my hands that I can throw harder than in the majors. I just didn't take a couple cycles of steroids or I coulda been there...well, there were other factors too, but that would have helped immensely.

I don't see them releasing Kim. They will still have to pay him. They'll keep him around and hope for the best or trade him for a minor leaguer and eat 5 million of his 6 million $ contract

I'm nervous about the Sox staff, but when it comes down to it, I could care less, we won the World Series!

Seriously, if they went into rebuild mode for 3-4 years, I'd be all for it. Hanley Ramirez, Papelbon, Lester, Pedroia, Shoppach, Youkilis, they're all ready within 2-3 years.

Except for the ones that are busts.

There are alot of question marks in the Sox staff. I'm a little nervous myself. I hope to god they don't trade H. Ramirez, Youkilis on Papplebon. I'd be ok with sending Shoppach of fthough

The staffs of both your club and my club are a little suspect, but I doubt that will stop ALCS III.

agreed

BTW for all Sox and Yankee fans, I'm reading a great book right now. It is called "A Tale of Two Cities" written by Tony Masserotti of The Boston Herald and John Harper of The New York Daily News. It tells the insider view of last season from when Aaron Boone hit his epic HR to Edgar Renteria grounding out to end the WS.

Finally, FINALLY, someone is writing about the Sox/Yankees rivalry. The gaping void of writing devoted to those two teams is going to be filled at last.

Looks like the Red Sox will trade Byung-Hyun Kim to the Rockies for Charles Johnson and pitching prospect Chris Narveson. It will be interesting to see what the Red Sox do with CJ

You've never heard of a Player To Be Named Later? Ransom was a defense minded shortstop, who the Giants released and the Cubs invited to spring on a minor league contract

And CJ was immediately designated for assignment and released. The Rockies sent enough money to Boston so that each team will be paying the same amount of money. The Red Sox are essentially paying $6-7 mil for a prospect

Wierd trade there ... BP doesn't like either Johnson or the prospect, so I'd say it's a good trade for the Rockies, even if Kim can't pitch at Coors at least it opens up space for J.D. Closser to catch.
