Jeter is better than the All-Star Game.

In terms of marketability and championships won, yes..... in terms of unbelievable heaps of godly talent, no.July 09, 2005 at 05:19AM View BBCode

If Jeter is the best player in the game please tell me how many MVP's he has. OK how many top 5 finishes in MVP? C'mon one 3rd place finish on a team that wins every season? No other top 5 finishes in MVP. Sounds like a good player but nowhere near the best player in the game.July 09, 2005 at 02:07PM View BBCode

Jeter isn't even close to being the best shortstop on his own team.July 09, 2005 at 10:36PM View BBCode
Laughable. And the topic of this thread says it all.July 10, 2005 at 07:24AM View BBCode

Who has the second most hits in baseball over the past few years? I'll give you one guess.
He performs day in and day out and has solidified himself as one of the best short stops in the majors.

Who has more hits over his first 8 seasons than anyone in baseball history? Yeah, it's the guy that's not going to the Allstar Game. Jeter, at the very least, should have won the vote for the last man. Scott Podsednik? Please.
Jeter: .309/.393/.454 11 homers 37 RBIs 10 SB
Podsednik .293/.363/.341 0 homers 17 RBIs 44 SB
Other than SBs Jeter pwns Podsednik in each category.

Baseball Weekly quoting Derek Jeter in their July 6 issue
I'd be lying if I said I didn't wat to go, but there have been times when I went when there weere others that were more deserving.

Young was more deserving for the reserve spot, but the fact that White Sox campaigning and Yankee-hatred cost the obviously qualified Jeter the last man vote is a joke.July 10, 2005 at 06:38PM View BBCode

The All-Star game is (or at least should be) an exhibition for the fans, meaning that 1) It should be a popularity contest, so screw Derek Jeter, 2) IT SHOULD NOT COUNT, and 3) every team should be represented. Why? So that every fan of every team in every city at least has a chance to see their guy get in and do something good.July 15, 2005 at 09:44PM View BBCode
