What the hell, might as well get this one up there now. It's inevitable anyway. I don't give a crap who will win, I just want to know who should win.September 07, 2005 at 08:23PM View BBCode
Popular opinion right now seems to revolve around Pujols or Andruw Jones in the NL and Ortiz in the AL. Pujols would be a fine choice, but Lee has been just as good with the bat and, in my mind at least, is a better fielder. Jones is pretty indefensible outside of "I vote for the guy with all the home runs". I guess you could make a case for him if you still think he's the center fielder he was in, say, 2000 or 2001. He's not. Ortiz is the "clutch is what matters" guy's candidate, discounting the fact that he plays in a better hitter's park than ARod, plays an easier defensive position (when he plays in the field at all) and plays it poorly, and hasn't had as good of a year offensively as ARod. MVP discussions always make me feel a little dirty because you sort of have to dump on guys who are really good. Ortiz is really good, just not as good as ARod.September 07, 2005 at 08:32PM View BBCode
Agreed on both counts. I think Pujols will (undeservedly) win it in the NL because St. Louis is in 1st and the Cubs are crappy. Andruw Jones' ~.360 OBP should disqualify him, and the fact that he can't even spell his own first name right.September 07, 2005 at 08:57PM View BBCode
After looking at the stats it sure looks like Jones is not the fielder he was. Which is suprising as he's only 28 years old.September 07, 2005 at 08:58PM View BBCode
The Braves would be nowhere without Jones, the Cards will still be great without Pujols this year.September 07, 2005 at 10:28PM View BBCode
I agree with Lee and A Rod..but Ortiz and Pujols will win.September 07, 2005 at 10:30PM View BBCode
I think you're probably right. Especially if the Yankees miss the playoffs, which remains one of the stupider reasons to not give a guy the MVP, somewhere around "he's not a good clubhouse guy" and "he doesn't look good in his uniform".September 08, 2005 at 12:17AM View BBCode
The Yankees are GOING to make the playoffs, even if it is a stupid reason for being the MVP. A-rod deserves it especially because of his glove. I don't know who will get either of them but I will guess A-rod in the AL and Pujols in the NL.September 08, 2005 at 12:25AM View BBCode
now i,m just goin tosay this n i don,t thnik it will b populer but jeter in my mvp. yha he may b on a good team but he plays good defense and always has lotsa heart when he plays baseball, and i seen him make some special plays like when 1, he dove into the stand for that foul ball and 2, when he made that toss to get giambi. plus he looks good is his uniform lol!September 08, 2005 at 12:40AM View BBCode

The Red Sox would NOT be in 1st place without Ortiz, the Yankees would still struggle without ARod.

Duck, I like a Jeter a lot and hes a great player but he isn't the MVP. Hes not even close to deserving the MVP and this is coming from a huge Jeter fan. By the way, you make a lot of typos...September 08, 2005 at 05:16PM View BBCode
