Bart why do you have 12 pitchers. Is the larger staffs in beta currently?

Yes. Beta is experimenting with 9 to 12 man staffs. Hopefully we can get it tested and moved over in September.

Bart,
What's the point of the experiment? What hypothesis are you testing?

That was my next question.

I don't really have a hypothisis I'm testing, more like trying to see how to abuse the system. Planning to try a couple of different ideas over the next couple of quarters just to see.

Ok so the first way was a built to win pitching arrangment and you are moving settings to see just how much you can milk the IC's? If So I would like detail copies of the settings so when I next need to develop some pitchers I have proven methods :spin:

First lets see if it works. I'm starting at this point with building 12 pitchers at once to see if it can be done (although some are vets and aren't necessarily being built).
BTW, with 7 relievers my RP mentoring has reached B+

OK, a full season experimenting with a ten man rotation yielded the following ICs
Meehan 59
Bennett 55
Brown 53
Demola 52
Noonan 52
Gray 51
Dodd 50
Rutherford 49
Smith 47
Sukeforth 44.
It seems possible that one can obtain a team wide developmental score for ten pitchers at one time, although the top numbers aren't overly high.
Next season I'm going to try to see if I can get two pitchers 80 or more ICs in the current system.

71 games into the 1957 season. Gil Meehan has appeared in 48 games (fewest on the team) and made 38 starts from the long Reliever A slot and pitched 166.1 innings. He's got 35 improvement chances thus far while the other 8 pitchers are 20-28 (appeared in 52-68 games with 35-98 innings).
Basically two starters this year, Meehan has 38 and Rutherford has 26. Jim Gray is third on the team with 4 starts.

OK, spent the 1957 season trying to get Meehan as many ICs as possible. He pitched in 108 games starting 85 of them and threw 378 innings all from the Long Reliever A slot in a 9 man pitching staff. With all that he managed 64 improvements (the rest of the staff all had 47-58)
