What do you think about this?
How did his high school coach go all year without looking into the story or calling the colleges and asking if they needed any tape on the kid?

I'd give him an academic scholarship for pulling it off for as long as he did.

Yeah, deadspin covered this. Honestly, I felt terrible for the kid when I believed he had been duped. Now, I just shrug my shoulders and say, well, high school kids are censored retarded.

Yeah, ESPN's coverage of the recruiting was a disaster. They tried to make it as big as the NFL draft but the whole thing came off as awkward.

Because adult fans foolishly tie their own self-importance into the success of their favorite team(s), and pass along their ridiculous obsessiveness to young people.
I often think that attention seeking has become the number two pastime in society...trailing slightly behind seeking to be entertained by the actions of others. I think the question of how/why this young man took it too far by getting a room filled with people, is the wrong question...no disrespect intended towards you JakePeavy. The question I continually ask is how ANY young man gets a room filled with people and media types when he announces which school he will attend. (As an aside, I'm a huge Mets fan and once the deal with Santana was announced, I could not understand the need for a separate press conference about that.)
This situation was pretty ridiculous...but the whole signing day concept is pretty ridiculous to me. I just hope that Hart winds up someplace where he can get an education and some proper perspective on life.
