Remember that one time I said that the Eagles were going to fall off the cliff, and then they didn't, and then Happy decided he was Nostradamus because he thought I was wrong? Really? Because he mentions it, like, all the time. Here's something else he mentioned a lot - that the Eagles were the second-best team in the NFL last year. No really, he said that.

With all this talk of McNabb going to the Redskins, today I remembered that in their last two trips to the playoffs, the Redskins lost to the Seahawks. And then I wept, softly, and punched a kitten in its face.

Sure, but only if Portis brings his costumes.

I couldn't agree more with deke and craig about this.

the skins just got a whole lot better at QB, and that QB has a thing or two to say to Philly Phan.

it's not like baseball, or even like trading any other position on the football team.

McNabb can exact whatever revenge he may, however fairly or unfairly, wish to repay against Philly's Phans and Phront ophice.

I betcha he won't mind going 2-14 as long as both wins are against the city of brotherly hate.

I am not at all sure that Donovan McNabb is a dramatic upgrade over Jason Campbell right now. It is hard to overstate just how horrible Washington's offensive line has been, and it's not like the "skill" players are very good either. Cooley is alright, but was injured last year.

I mean the Redskins are MFCS godawful, and I think Campbell has literally had a different offensive co-ordinator every year of his career, including college, I know that that was true at one point a couple of years ago, and I think it's still true today.

Anyway, McNabb has obviously had the better career, and Campbell will never be as good as McNabb was at his peak, I am not trying to say something that stupid. But we will see how good McNabb is with this new level of supporting "talent."

To put it another way, McNabb had 22 touchdown passes last year, and every single one involved DeSean Jackson scrambling to get under one of McNabb's patented 60-yard, eyes-closed desperation heaves and bolting for the end zone.

(Or at least, that's how I remember it from having both of them on my fantasy team.)

I am not saying that Donovan McNabb sucks. I am saying that I'm not sure any of the Redskins' linemen (barring first-round pick) would even make the Eagles' roster. They certainly wouldn't start.

And actually when you get to the "skill" players, would any of them start for the Eagles? Probably not Moss. Celek/Cooley seems closer than you'd think. No way in hell I'd start the current iteration of Portis over McCoy.

Do you think McNabb is going to stay in Was when they go 2-14, or 5-11, or 7-9? When your in mid 30's your only thinking one thing, a ring, and that goes double for McNabb. If Favre returns this year, this will be his last season, and I see the Vikes signing McNabb in 2011. And if Favre does come back in 2011 I'm sure there will be teams much closer to a ring that will come calling.

Basically this is why Was has to think Clausen. If they can get a extension going for McNabb than take the OT. So Wahington better hope they go 9-7/10-6 and make the playoffs or otherwise this trade will go down in favor of the Eagles.

The Redskins are not drafting Jimmy Clausen.

(But, man, if they do, endless Craig-baiting to be had.)

God. God.

(They don't need to draft fucking Jimmy Clausen BECAUSE THERE WILL BE ANOTHER DRAFT NEXT YEAR, AND THE YEAR AFTER, AND THE YEAR AFTER THAT, AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO REACH FOR SOME CRAPHOLE QUARTERBACK JUST BECAUSE YOU GET A WILD HAIR THAT YOU NEED TO GROOM SOMEONE RIGHT MFCS NOW.)

philly phans should be lined up, have holes drilled into their heads, and have at least 5 brain cells implanted.

this way, they would all have at least 6.

I think I read somewhere that they were all sharing one.
