Now, the question is, if you had Coach Ditka facing the combined might of USC, OSU, ND and Mich which team would win?November 15, 2006 at 05:01AM View BBCode
I'd say it'd be the combined might of USC, Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame 20, Coach Ditka.....24. It'd be close, because I'm assuming the rules will allow all 4 teams to play its 11 at the same time. Ditka will probably struggle in the 1st half against a 44-player team, before pulling it out in the 4th quarter.November 15, 2006 at 05:05AM View BBCode
hmm, I would say that ND would beat Oregon St on the road, but Michigan would beat down USC at home.November 15, 2006 at 07:00AM View BBCode
Scaff.. like Kinslow said earlier: Please keep making predictions against the Trojans. It makes me happy knowing that as soon as you do, you will be wrong.November 15, 2006 at 07:04AM View BBCode
I only keep referring to Sagarin ratings because they haven't failed me in 5 years. Generally the spreads are within +/- 2 point of what he has.November 15, 2006 at 05:53PM View BBCode
how much was Texas, Auburn, and Louisville favored last week?November 15, 2006 at 05:56PM View BBCode

my last comment had nothing to do with betting lines, it had to do with who would win.

Well with the polls love-fest with ND I dont see them being held out if they beat USC. especially if USC beats Cal this weekend. All I can say is that the BCS sucks and it will be interesting to see how this thing plays out. The onyl good thing about the BCS is that it creates a lot of intrigue late in the season that NCAA Basketball is missing.November 16, 2006 at 05:21AM View BBCode
Why Michigan only has one first place vote is simple: Ohio State hasn't lost any games and as such they shouldn't drop a spot, IMO Michigan moved up to the #2 spot way too fast, granted they deserve to be there now, but they jumped over a couple undefeated teams from #6 to #2 back when there were still a score of undefeated teams. It's not so much that Michigan doesn't deserve to be there, but in all fairness a team should not drop in rankings if they won, it doesn't always work, especially when it's a large number of teams with the same record, but when it comes down to two undefeateds it is a lot simpler. For the same reason Rutgers should be #3 with that win over Louisiville, but the voters almost always take into account the previous season, last year Michigan and Rutgers weren't so hot so they get a little less respect than they deserve now. Another example was USC-Oklahoma in the title game three years ago, most people agreed Auburn should have been there but they didn't have the greatest of seasons the year before.November 16, 2006 at 05:36AM View BBCode

Ohio was ranked number 1 and they won yet again so they deserve to stay where they are.November 16, 2006 at 05:58AM View BBCode

Why should voters be beholden to preseason polls? If OSU and Michigan are 1-2, and Ohio State barely beats Illinois while Michigan blows out Notre Dame, why shouldn't Michigan leapfrog the Buckeyes?

I say lets just use the computer polls, they dont have pre-conceived notionsNovember 16, 2006 at 07:15PM View BBCode

Which is exactly why preseason polls should not be done. And why I argue against there being polls until the end of the season.
