I think Kuroda goes #2 .
A lot depends on Phil Hughes health, he was decent in September last year and only a year removed from 18 wins and an ERA of 4.19. If Hughes is healthy and the pitcher he was from '09-'10 then the Yankees have tons of options. A healthy and productive Hughes makes Nova the #5 and Garcia and Burnett sniffing for innings.
There's been a rumour going around that NY may be able to dump Burnett on the Pirates, which would just be cruel.

The Pirates. It would be better for Burnett because there's less pressure. And it's any Yankee fan's dream. Or at the very least, mine.

pfft. they know better. they aren't going to put him way up there and have go out there hurt himself trying to be cy young or somebody. third, like rooster says, sure. not second. he is just a punk. a good punk, real nice. but not ready for prime time yet.

Second or third. Fourth is too far back for a player with Pineda's skill. Second may be too far up and is a better place for Kuroda. But I think he is better than Nova and definitely Garcia

with the yankees, it isn't a great big deal, because they always seem to use more different starters than any other team. they get 30 to 33 starts out of pineda, they be more than pleased i guess.
they got plenty of things to help him out, he doesn't have to be some kind of phenom. or they could let him be the "second" starter but still kind of pick his spots a little bit, they aren't going to be looking to over use him.
when the yankees land something like that they tend to take fairly good care of it. when free agent time comes, they want them healthy, they know they'll take the pinstripe coin if its anywhere close.

It's one thing to put up great first half numbers when nobody has seen you, with an great home pitcher's park and no pressure. It's quite another thing to do it in NY pitching half your games in Yankee Stadium.

I think Hughes would be a better fit in the bullpen, given his previous success there. Garcia was a productive starter (not saying he'll repeat that) last season, and has only 2 appearances in relief- one last year and the other being with Seattle in 2000. But I do agree that when healthy and at his best, Hughes is a great starter.
