The only other Darius I can think of is Hootie, and when Bryant Gumbel and Wayne Brady get together he's the person they make fun of for not being black enough.

Miles, who causes all three of them to clutch their purses in the elevator.

Donald Brashear. Marty McSorley even tried to take care of that uppity Negro.

Yeah, Darius Miles is the first Darius for me.

(I knew a black kid named Darius growing up, and combined with Miles I guess I sort of assumed it was a not uncommon name, but I don't really know.)

I was going to go with "had a sweet cross over, but no midrange jumper (lol basketball stereotypes)", but that works, too.

Anson Carter is black enough to have dreadlocks. Dreadlocks, Liz Lemon!

That's pretty black.

(have black hockey players caught up with black American baseball players yet?)

Looks like one of those "sucker emcees" to me.

Anson Carter's wiki: "He played in Vancouver on the second offensive line with identical twins Henrik and Daniel Sedin, where the trio were known colloquially as the "Brothers Line"."

That's pretty awesome.

That section of the wiki was obviously written by a die hard Canucks fan .

The mainstream local media name for the line was "The Brothers Line" but given that the Sedins were generally perceived as "soft" player at the time the other name was "The Family Line" - two sisters and a brother .

For some reason, this thread has me thinking of Bill Simmons Reggie Cleveland All Stars

Regarding the game, I'm a Capitals fan, and "follow" one of the team's PR reps on Twitter (about the only thing I use Twitter for -- to keep up on Caps/hockey news). He's Canadian and was definitely pro-Canadian throughout the hockey tournament. His "tweet" after the game:

My sentiments exactly. Great player. Can't stand him.

What else would a Caps PR rep say ?

I mean the guy would probably be fired in a heartbeat if he gave Crosby any praise .

The best are always subject to "haters", Gretzky, Lemieux, Ovechkin, Crosby etc., it's the nature of the beast.

you'd love to have crosby on your team, craig.

as would any NHL fan.

I always thought Deion was a "douche", but I sure liked him playing CB for the Cowboys.

"Four Seconds" -- Toronto Star breaks down the game-winning goal with comments from everyone involved. Pretty cool, but it still stings. :(

(Referee Bill) McCREARY: "I just heard a voice hollering. They holler at each other ? drop it here, push it there ? you hear the players talking and the communication between them is just incredible. I heard somebody hollering ? obviously it was Crosby ? and Iginla's battling with Suter, the defenceman, and (Iginla) gained position on him to make a pass. Then the check was finished on Iginla and he was knocked down. So I trailed the puck carrier, who was Crosby, to the net."

So Alex Ovechkin is a pretty dirty player. Like, Brian Dawkins dirty.

Are any of the 25 other people in the NHL that have more hits than Ovechkin dirty players, too?

I don't know, how many of them have already had one suspension for a dirty hit this season ?
