So, the hyper-caffeinated South Korean side, or the country that has plunged Europe to the brink of financial ruin?

1-nil South Korea on a virtual corner kick at 7'. This game is already so much more entertaining than the staid midfield exchanges of yesterday.

How are Greece at 13th in the world rankings? They are just terrible.

The FIFA rankings aren't really worth paying attention to. The ELO rankings (the system is derived from that used in chess) are quite a bit better, if you're going to look at any of them (Greece are 42 there).

Nigeria seemed to get the result they wanted, a one-nil loss. The lack of pressure on the ball those last few minutes was laughable. Like, they were going to settle for goal differential. Their keeper kept them in the game, good work by him.

Argentina looked like world beaters until they got their goal, then just sort of went through the motions. A little sloppy at times. Hopefully they can put things together as the tourney moves on, and maybe Maradona can figure things out (haha).

I am going to miss the US game, and there is no chance I'll stay spoiler free, because I am going to be coaching youth soccer... so... ugh.

Yea, they only showed urgency in very short stretches, and usually only when they had the ball (where it seemed more like panic, really). I was hoping Taiwo's shot (when he got injured) would go in, as I'm pretty sure Marseille would have won the game (and possibly the World Cup) if both Heinze and Taiwo scored. That'd have been neat.

Argentina were more solid/cohesive than I sort of expected, although Nigeria didn't really test them to any great degree. It's obviously a sort of annoying (and stupid) thing to say, but on another day they could have easily won that 4-0, or something. Enyeama pulled off a sort of Casillas-esque performance, which was kind of funny (considering he mostly denied Messi and Higuain).

The Argentina-Nigeria game was the first one I've been able to watch without knowing the result and was an interesting match although Nigeria didn't show as much as I had hoped for.

Argentina looked better than I had expected and as Eric said could have easily had 4 goals .

Does anyone have a link to watch the US/England online? I can't get ESPN3.com to work properly, so if I could back-door the system and just get the game I would be happy.

That goal that Green allowed to score was delightful. Woohoo!

Yeah, Altidore's shot really should have gone in. I guess that it was lucky returning a favor from the earlier gaff on the part of England.
