And, yes, Tebow was a "project pick." For the love of everything good, the first thing they did in training camp was "teach him how to throw!" That's not a good first lesson for a guy drafted to play QB in the NFL.December 16, 2010 at 09:23PM View BBCode
Their last two games are home games and the Broncos didn't sell out a home game for the first time in about 45 years when the Rams came to town a few weeks back. They need butts in seats for the concessions and merchandise sales.December 16, 2010 at 09:26PM View BBCode
fielding a competent team will likely do more to fix that situation than starting an unprepared qb.December 16, 2010 at 09:50PM View BBCode
Well they've proven they can't do that with their 1st teamers, haven't they?December 17, 2010 at 02:03PM View BBCode
Besides, Orton hasn't taken any snaps this whole week at practice; his ribs are still dinged up from last week.December 19, 2010 at 01:21AM View BBCode
surely god is with the broncos now.December 19, 2010 at 09:39PM View BBCode
I dunno, he hasn't looked bad. He hasn't looked great, but what I'm liking is the energy the team is playing with on Defense after getting pantsed on their first play.December 19, 2010 at 10:51PM View BBCode
Yeah, those intangibles he came in the league with are a sad thing to see, right? The team is rallying around him. His O-line is protecting him both in pass protection and in "extra-curricular engagements". His passes while lacking the crispness of a veteran, are being placed, for the most point, where he needs them to be.December 19, 2010 at 11:17PM View BBCode
:) im sure itll take him a few years to really be that good, but why not let him give it a try? i understand college and nfl is very different but he was one of the best college players and from the times ive seen him play he looks pretty goodDecember 19, 2010 at 11:37PM View BBCode
I'd say this Broncos team is looking pretty competent.December 20, 2010 at 12:11AM View BBCode
they haven't looked awful, certainly. nor has tebow. but they are losing to the raiders.December 20, 2010 at 01:26AM View BBCode
Raiders are a much improved team, I doubt they make the playoffs but they'll probably finish 8-8 this year, either way they are starting to turn it aroundDecember 20, 2010 at 02:23AM View BBCode
Let's be honest here, with Tebow the Broncos offense generated exactly 8 first downs and 235 yards in offense .December 20, 2010 at 05:54AM View BBCode
Wait ... do you hear what I hear? A voice of reason!December 20, 2010 at 10:09AM View BBCode
just wait. it will be swamped under by the cultists shortly.December 20, 2010 at 10:26AM View formatted

you weren't watching the last two weeks. Heck, last week, it looked like the whole offense quit.December 20, 2010 at 04:28PM View BBCode

An attitude like the one Tebow brings is infectious. That being said, I believe I said that Tebow didn't look bad but didn't look great. The game yesterday also pointed out the biggest issue with the Broncos team that a lot of the media around here won't talk about. They have had a different Defensive coordinator every year for the past 6 years. You just cannot have any sort of continuity when your direction and focus change every single year.

to be fair, he wasn't asked to throw the rock much, either. And averaging 17 yards per completion in yesterdays game (8 completions, 138 yards passing) doesn't sound like someone who can't throw.December 21, 2010 at 12:26AM View BBCode
Frankly, with Tebow, they should work the old roll-out/QB Option. Three basic progressions out of the pocket (short, intermediate, and long) and then throw it away or get some yards with your legs. The same basic style offense Denver ran when Gary Kubiak was the offensive coordinator here and we had Jake Plummer (the last Denver QB, BTW, to win a post season game) running the offense.
