I don't think the fanbase of...Denver would represent the right fit for Vick. [/quote]

You mean the fan base that danced on Shanahan's grave when he was shown the door?

That was an idiotic, yet unfortunately vocal portion of the fanbase.

Bowlen, Shannahan and the fanbase all overreacted following a season in which Denver overachieved early and underachieved late. Had calmer heads prevailed, the McDaniels hiring and subsequent fiasco might have been avoided.

(I'm just saying, fan bases are all kind of the same. Stupid.)

Vick has almost no shot at QB in the NFL.

And didn't the Raiders sign Jeff Garcia? Davis might be committed, but he brought in one of the top backups, most likely to give Russell a run / push him.

I don't think Garcia thinks of himself as a clipboard holder yet.

in your heart of hearts, you are just absolutely sure that jeff garcia can play rings around michael vick at the quarterback position, aren't you?

(we are also aware that you are very much a lover of puppies. not that there is anything wrong with that.)

if was a team that highlighted the short/intermediate passing game, i'd prefer garcia as well. if i ever wanted to throw a pass longer than 15 yards, i'd take vick.

(i don't think he's going to the raiders though)

jeff garcia is rather the transluscent dwarf of the NFL, isn't he? scrappy. he is scrappy.

He eats dirt. And craps....whatever a scrappy dirt eater turns dirt into. Probably some form of enriched potting soil.

Did I say that? Somebody said that Al Davis was married to Russell at QB. I'm just saying they picked up a guy who could start in Oakland, not just a crappy backup.

For the record, I have no problem with Vick coming back. He has paid his dues. I'm not rooting for him to play well, of course. He wasn't that good of a QB before he left either.

In a way, he could help with the animal abuse problem. The talk is that he is going to work with the humane society. Him coming back and being a productive member of society (and the NFL) could be good for the cause.

He is wedded to Russell. Bringing in faggotron Jeff Garcia changes nothing.

hah, faggotron.

and yes, there was a piece in the NYT last week about Vick and the ASPCA.

Amazing that you actually hold batshit crazy Al Davis to his word. I don't care, I was just sayin.

Davis is batshit crazy, but I have a hard time believing he's crazy enough to give up on his $60 million dollar investment that quickly.

If Al Davis said, in plain English, "I am completely committed to JaMarcus Russell, and he is the starting quarterback of the Oakland Raiders," then I'd suspect that Russell was on his way out. It's not Davis who's talking about his commitment to Russell, it's sources who follow the team. Al isn't going to let his coaches replace Russell, that's his guy.

Good lord. All I said was they brought in a capable backup. Hilarity ensues.

Nobody likes them. Either of them. Perhaps there is something inherent in the genes of an censored that causes them to wear ridiculous eyewear.

i thought he gave that up, and just decided hating on Layne Giffen was his thing from now on. no matter that Giffen isn't there anymore. when jeff garcia comes in throws a game away, Al can fire Layne Giffen again (can't blame the faggotron, it is only doing what Giffen programmed it to do). it is the Duncan Idaho option.

(I was going to compare pass happy offenses to putting censored into orbit, but whatever. I don't even know if the Raiders still play like that.)

nobody cares what the Raiders do anymore. the ghost of Darryl Lamonica could not save them now.
