Greg Maddux was traded to the dodgers todayJuly 31, 2006 at 11:55PM View BBCode
He's made a lot of trades with the Devil Rays this year, giving them highly rated prospects Dioneer Navarro, Edwin Jackson and Joel Guzman, plus Jae Seo.August 01, 2006 at 05:37AM View BBCode

As a Dodger fan who grew up in Long Beach, I must say that I am kind of disappointed with the direction the team is headed. I can understand wanting to make the playoffs coming out of the worst division in baseball, but if you're dealing away your future (Izturis) to get there, knowing that you will get destroyed in the playoffs... I just don't see the point. I think the Cubbies made out. Good for them.August 01, 2006 at 06:37AM View BBCode
Cesar Izturis is incapable of making a team better. He could make it worse, or the same (if, say, he quits baseball to move to the jungles of Indonesia) but never better. He is the future of the Dodgers like Kevin Federline is the future of music.August 01, 2006 at 07:08AM View BBCode

The Dodgers traded nothing to acquire a decent innings-eating 4th starter, who also happens to be a mortal lock, first ballot Hall of Famer. It's a fine deal for them, and all it costs them is the value of his 2006 contract, minus the 2 million the Cubs are chipping in.

I was hoping for Izturis to get better. He is only 26, while Lugo is 5 years older. I just hate to see the Dodgers acquiring these older guys (although I will admit that Lugo is having the best year of his career.) As far as Maddux goes, I just hate to see him get shipped off so close to the end of his career. It would have been nice to see him end it in Chicago where it started. If that makes me a sentimental p-u-s-s-y, so be it.August 01, 2006 at 05:50PM View BBCode
This trade bugs the shit out of me. Why the hell do the Cubs need another offensively inept shortstop, when they have a younger one? Its not going to help anything. Of course, why would they try to make trades that help them? That would be silly.August 01, 2006 at 08:22PM View BBCode

By "good season" I guess you mean "last place in the NL West." Granted it is only a 5 game deficit, but it's hard to say you're having a good season when you are in last place in your division.August 03, 2006 at 08:07PM View BBCode
yeah but next week they could be in 1st. in the NL West everyoen can always win itAugust 03, 2006 at 08:44PM View BBCode
What the hell is that? Is it a chicken wing? And are you dancing with it? And do you have a chinstrap, or is that just the lighting? These are pressing questions.August 03, 2006 at 09:33PM View BBCode
LMAO...August 03, 2006 at 09:35PM View BBCode
Gotcha. That is still pretty stupid. But at least you're married, that's a point in your favor. Hopefully she made you shave the chinstrap. Yeesh.August 04, 2006 at 02:47AM View BBCode
