He's made a lot of trades with the Devil Rays this year, giving them highly rated prospects Dioneer Navarro, Edwin Jackson and Joel Guzman, plus Jae Seo.

Except Navarro and Jackson were traded once they lost the "highly rated" label

As a Dodger fan who grew up in Long Beach, I must say that I am kind of disappointed with the direction the team is headed. I can understand wanting to make the playoffs coming out of the worst division in baseball, but if you're dealing away your future (Izturis) to get there, knowing that you will get destroyed in the playoffs... I just don't see the point. I think the Cubbies made out. Good for them.

Cesar Izturis is incapable of making a team better. He could make it worse, or the same (if, say, he quits baseball to move to the jungles of Indonesia) but never better. He is the future of the Dodgers like Kevin Federline is the future of music.

The Dodgers traded nothing to acquire a decent innings-eating 4th starter, who also happens to be a mortal lock, first ballot Hall of Famer. It's a fine deal for them, and all it costs them is the value of his 2006 contract, minus the 2 million the Cubs are chipping in.

Right on.

Not to mention that the Dodgers already have like 13 shortstops, and also acquired Julio Lugo.

I was hoping for Izturis to get better. He is only 26, while Lugo is 5 years older. I just hate to see the Dodgers acquiring these older guys (although I will admit that Lugo is having the best year of his career.) As far as Maddux goes, I just hate to see him get shipped off so close to the end of his career. It would have been nice to see him end it in Chicago where it started. If that makes me a sentimental p-u-s-s-y, so be it.

Izturis and Laynce Nix are birds of a feather.

This trade bugs the shit out of me. Why the hell do the Cubs need another offensively inept shortstop, when they have a younger one? Its not going to help anything. Of course, why would they try to make trades that help them? That would be silly.

Hmm really. Too bad. Despite his meltdown after a great start, Mad Dog will find his form to help a dodger team that is having a good season so far. The cubs weren't going any where anyway.

By "good season" I guess you mean "last place in the NL West." Granted it is only a 5 game deficit, but it's hard to say you're having a good season when you are in last place in your division.

yeah but next week they could be in 1st. in the NL West everyoen can always win it

What the hell is that? Is it a chicken wing? And are you dancing with it? And do you have a chinstrap, or is that just the lighting? These are pressing questions.

Its a Buffalo Wing. I am "Advertising" it. I had a chinstrap. Its at my wedding reception.

Gotcha. That is still pretty stupid. But at least you're married, that's a point in your favor. Hopefully she made you shave the chinstrap. Yeesh.
