I just got all five of the B rated or better players from the waiver wire...i am laughing my ass off right nowthis should be a fun end of the season

Why would Chicago release 5 or 6 of their best players including their 2 best pitchers? Lucky you could get them all.

It should most certainly help you to make the playoffs but the guys obtained after September 1st will be ineligible to play in the playoffs. They are marked in "orange" on your depth chart.

It's happened to me before. This is my second season and I won my division by twenty games last year. I was then promptly swept out of the playoffs.:(

last season my team made the playoffs as 2nd seed and i swept both the ALCS and the world series...so i've got history on my side too...

it has nothing to do with luck. once again i was away for 4 days when all this happened so i cannot be certain, but if your team was crappy enough to claim those guys, i wouldn't be bragging about it.

Ivy aren't really tanking any worse than they were before with all the stars so who cares. At least now when the SP gives up 5 runs in 3 innings, it's one w/o A control tanking.

Noone knew they'd show up on the wire in advance or until they just happened to look.Ivy aren't really tanking any worse than they were before with all the stars so who cares. To say we all had a chance to claim them is a little disingenuous. My record was better than yours at the time so you always had dibs and you always had a chance to pull them back if someone else put in a claim for them.

Its also not accurate to say that everyone had the same chance. If 5 teams claim all 5 of these players the team with the worst record will get all 5. Normally its not a problem because the decent players usually don't end up on the waiver wire (unless someone is trying to sneak a player to the minors) but in a situation like this it can dramatically affect the balance of power in a league.

also, usually when they do go on waivers, the teams with the really low records get them so it doesn't affect things too much. i just got lucky that nobody with a lower record than me tried to claim them. and i had probably the the 6th best record or so...and it wasn't like i got the players and all of a sudden started winning all my games. i've been winning about the same amount as before i got them

People cheating to win a free league just turns of prospective quality owners away from the site. I hope no one was turned off by this experience. Rest assured this would never happen in a pay league.

and if i was cheating, i would not have been stupid enough to post a topic calling attention to the fact that i had just gotten a bunch of good players, i would have just let it pass quietly and hoped nobody would notice.
but again, i didn't even think i had a chance to get any of those players...i just put my claims in just in case i GOT LUCKY
