Changes to Waiver Wire page

September 12, 2008 at 08:57PM View BBCode

I've added the client-side sorting stuff to the Waiver wire page, and also put in a way to filter by position, as I find myself often looking for a guy at a specific position.

For the "all players" listing, the sort seems a bit slow and you have to wait until all the players load before it works. It is probably faster than the old sort, but seems a bit awkward (at least on this PC).

Let me know what you think.

Seems fine, a nice addition.

Can you add an RP, SP option for pitchers ?

The filters seem to work well... not slower than usual... however...

... a welcome addition would be to be able to filter starting (SP) and relief (RP) pitchers.

I added in SP/RP.

it looks like it's sorting it as text instead of numerically (ie 9, 9, 9, 99, 98, 97, 94, 8, 8, 87, 73, 6, etc). 100 is going to the bottom, as well.

I tried a few sorts and it worked okay. Which ones are sorting improperly?

Thanks!

It looks to me like all of the columns are sorting that way. Maybe it's a browser-specific issue? I'm using Safari in Mac OS 10.5.

That is strange, it must be something with your browser because I'm not seeing it with Firefox.

What happens on Individual stats and team stats?

It's definitely a Safari issue on the waiver wire, I justed tested it.

Individual stats sort fine, there are no teams stats at this point.

Well, I found out that my Mac has OS 9.2, and Safari only works for OS X and above. Upgrading to OS X seems like a bear. Let's see if we can find another way to fix this.

Can one of you guys do me a favor? Can you open the Safari JavaScript Error Console and tell me what happens when you try to sort? Open the Waiver Wire page, clear all the messages, then click one of the boxes to sort and see if any Error or Warning messages show up?

I found that the local Kinkos has a Mac that I can rent, I'm going to head there tomorrow and see what I can figure out.

Howdy, I have a Mac running 10.4.11 (the prior release to 10.5) and both Firefox and Safari seems to working fine on this release. Bryce

My Mac, running 10.3.9, is fine with Firefox and Safari.

I'm running Mac OS 10.5.5 and Safari 3.1.2. Nothing showed up in the error console.

Ok, I got my hands on a mac and I think I found the problem. Take a look at this page and let me know if you see any other problems.

Thanks!
